Oh dear! Squeezebox boom and NAS :-(

My damn Roku died yesterday- I descided to go for the Squeezebox boom.

I have a QNAP TS101 running twonky & itunes.

Does anyone know if I can still use SBB without going through some sort of hack on my QNAP?

Do I have to install slimserver on a NAS to get it to work?

I hope not- Im not that savvy on hacking away using telnet

Can anyone help?

You could just load Squeezebox Server onto your PC or laptop and point it to the drives on your QNAP. Means having your PC on to use the Boom but no hacking of the QNAP needed.

If however you were feeling clever the nice people on slimforums know all about 3rd party hardware

Unhappy Re: Oh dear! Squeezebox boom and NAS :-( -QNAP TS101

Well it seems like I cannot upgrade my TS101 for slimserver/squeezeserver.

So can anyone suggest an alternative? I have been looking at the QNAP TS-119?

Anyone had any experience of them?

Seems a shame that I now have a broken Roku and a TS101 that are redundant now- hey ho.
