Squeezebox Server Stopped

Squeezebox Server won't automatically start when I switch on my PC and when I tried to do it manually it tries to start but stops. I have disabled my Firewall but the problem is still there.
Any ideas what's causing it?

Hi there,

I'm having the same issue this evening.

However, mine seems to have come at the same time as installing the last few Windows Updates.

I restarted the machine, twice, and still no luck. I can't even manually restart it.

Anyone else having this issue?

Thanks.

Hi there,

I think it's worth checking first whether after the update there is a change in the Windows Firewall settings that may prevent the software from running, assuming that you do use Windows Firewall.

My problem has been solved now. I believe I started another thread a few days after this one where there were a few responses. Others have reported similar problems at Squeezebox : Community : Forums , I believe.
I created the problem as I tried to install the software on a network attached storage and somehow I made it mess.
I removed it from the NAS and reinstalled in on my PC but the problem remained. However, once I removed the squeezebox folder the new installation after that worked fine. Hope this helps and it's not something more complicated.

I've posted on their forums aswell, so if that brings anything.

Failing that, I may uninstall the update and see if that resolves the issue?

Just wanted to check if anyone else had suffered the same issue?

I have just encountered this problem. It seemed to coincide with a McAfee upgrade. I found a solution! I entered my McAfee Change Settings Firewall Programme page. I opened Programme Permissions and edited every Squeezebox entry to give it FULL permission. It works.
