Squeezebox Boom or Radio

Which one to get?

My place isn't exactly that big, but will the sound difference be that much better with the Boom as opposed to the Radio?

The Radio has a colour screen and FB and Flickr features, but I don't see the benefit to these (am I missing something?) I just want to be able to listen to my music.

Price wise, using the Logictec discounts the Radio is coming in at about 127 pounds while the Boom is coming in at about 176 pounds, it it worth the difference?

Re: Squeezebox Boom or Radio

Size wise, Boom is surprisingly small for the quality of sound.

Well. Boom is stereo while Radio is Mono.
If you really want this for serious listening (Boom is good enough for that), Boom is worth it. If you are just looking for a kitchen or bedside alarm radio, Radio is fine.

Re: Squeezebox Boom or Radio

have had both,

Boom fantastic sound, bass really good, little mag remote, screen pretty good, software is pretty stable most bugs ironed out. Bascially sold the boom due to its footprint for me, and wasnt using it to its full potential.

Okay the radio, first thing I am really amazed at how good it sounds, for the size and one speaker. Screen and menu options find alot easier to use than the boom. You dont get remote with it, but can buy as an extra. Though I use an ipod touch to control mine with.

There is a few niggles with it at moment, but will be solved with updates like the boom was in the early days.

I personally prefer the radio due to size and find it easier to use.

Though the boom does rock as well two great products,

Re: Squeezebox Boom or Radio

The Boom is quite small and would fit in most places and it's not that the Radio is a lot cheaper.

I have had a Boom for about a year now and am a massive fan, previously I lived in a flat and it was my bedside player. I've recently moved in with my girlfriend and have just purchased a radio for the kitchen, should arrive soon - the boom is on my desk and still looks and sounds great.
