Help Me with server please....

Hi all, Stel here, dunno if i have posted this in the right place but here goes,

In my Home cinema I have 500 dvds which i want to put on a media server with a massive hard drive,I want it to output 1080p via hdmi or dvi and have digital audio out connections to my amp,I also want it to store the pictures of the cases of the dvds so when I use its supplied remote control i can just pull up my whole dvd library on my projector screen.

So basically i want it to store mystuff and plug straight into my amp/receiver, theres no need for it to call media from elsewhere in the house, nor does it need a dvd/blueray/hdd optical drive...

any ideas at all? as i dont know much on these things i have no idea of budget but lets say £1000 for argument sake.

You really don't need to be paying any like £1000, thats one of the great advantages of streamers over HTPC's. There are a few that fit the bill, it will dig through my bookmarks for you when i get chance later...

Hi Stel,
no need to spend a grand really i would go for the following:

Pentium dual core 2ghz (has speed step and uses less power in idle quite fan and very cool running)
http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=632059

Silverstone LC03 black or silver depending on your style
http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=156695

Gigbyte GA73 (Onboard HDMI and DVI and SPDIF)
http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=700923

Fanless PSU
http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=510107

2 GIG of ram http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=402849

And 3 x 750 gig hard disks enough for over 500 films at 4.3 gig each - the reason i chose 750 gig and not 1 tb is 750 are £110 and 1TB are £200 each do the maths!

Then add your sundries
