I just read this is a review;

The A-300 runs its own jukebox software to index your files and attach images, but it will only work on files stored locally. Once the process is done, however, it makes finding and browsing your movies far more enjoyable.

Is it true that the jukebox only works on local media and not networked media?

Thanks. I couldn't see why it wouldn't but wanted to make sure.

Any reason why 96k/24 bit multi channel flacc files won't play?
OK if in wav format.

There are a few niggles with trying to edit individual film poster/fanart via NMJ for network shares, but this is a well known problem that will hopefully be addressed in next fw update.
As long as your movies are named ok then NMJ will find most of them.

For the ones it doesn’t find, there is ROMs NMJToolbox

I think ill hold off for now then. Ive got a dune max at the moment which I like but im looking for a device that can simply read my network share and find info for it without any input from me. Once the niggles etc have been sorted out ill have a rethink.

ROMs NMJToolbox is essential for maintaining your NMJ. However, it doesn't suppor tmusic (yet), for which I use the NMJED Windows editor.

Been using both all weekend!

Thing is Dan its really not a major problem
When I ran NMJ for the first time for a network share, it found about 90% of my movies

For the other 10% you just fire up Rom’s NMJToolbox on your pc, point it to the share and browse thru the list of movies. When you see a blank poster/fanart, just add the poster etc from the choice given by the NMJToolbox.

You want to store things locally on the PCH
You want to be able to access the internal drive from a PC
You want to use the built in News/Usenet client
You want to install community written programs & utilities
You want to use BD menus/bookmarks (it needs a 4gb partition for the BD 'persistant storage' standard)
Any news on the new NMJ for the a-210 yet?

No, apparently there is a firmware that is in QA at the moment and we are waiting for Syabas to decide on whether to unleash it on the beta testers. This is for the C-200 and if/when released to joe public an A200/210 one usually follows a week later. However, it has also been stated that this firmware does not include NMJv2.

Wouldnt it be easier to use Eversion than nmj?? It's easy to use and setup.

I'm not too bothered about NMJ, I just want all my media in one library just like My Movies and without requiring a degree in networking. The WAF doesn't stretch as far as several libraries. The PCH is a potentially great product let down by poor implementation.

Then YAMJ + Eversion is your answer. Eversion allows dynamic mounting of shares so you can have media from different sources in one library. It is also flash based so you have dynamic popups etc.

Its actually what I use

Pix mania or direct from popcorn hour. I'm absolutely gutted about the stock levels of pix mania, firstly there said there would dispatch on the 15th, which it would have been today but now it's going to a estimated delivery of 23rd march.

That is what I was going to do, but was worried that it would invalidate my warranty. Or even just to change the lead to UK kettle lead

They should still be send out the correct adaptor with the unit as some people don't have these cables at hand. This could infact be an additional cost to them. I have sent them an email outlining this

I was one of those persons !

A300 arrived, inboxed it and discovered the adapter wouldnt fit the plug.

I had a clear out months ago of leads i dont use.

Had to jump in car and drive to maplins who had the correct adapter.

I emailed pixmania and told them about this, and that i wanted a refund for the incorrect adapter.

emailed the receipt and a refund was in my bank after a few days.

That's a good way of doing it, So far we have purchase 4 units from them, each time the adaptor has been incorrect.

I have emailed them to advise them of this and also sent them a link to the correct adaptor on there website and still they keep on sending me the incorrect adaptor.

I wonder how many more people have this issue??

New release available: NMJ Toolbox | The Original Editor for The PopcornHour NMJ!

1.0.1.6 - 16/02/12

Added a SQL dump routine for debugging when a SQL update fails (will be saved in the NMJToolbox application folder called debug.txt).
Added when adding additional episodes to a TV series, theTVDB is automatically queried.
Added a few tweaks to the date routines.
Added checks for when theTVDB is queried with an IMDB 'tt' ID and the series returns no results (with added help message).
Stopped showing an error message when bulk updating the IMDB ratings but the title has no rating.
Fixed SQL error where adding an ISO of a tvshow with multiple episodes and MediaInfo does not retrieve a run time.
Fixed the add movie/TV file browse dialog not showing ISO files.
Fixed adding a new TV series/episode potentially using a different TTID to query the TVDB - which gave incorrect results.
Fixed not being able to remove a genre when the NMJ creates one that starts with a leading space.
Fixed error generated in some cases when a 'ttid' is not completed when adding a new TV show.
Fixed the 'Query TVDB toolbar being enabled (and causing an error when clicked) when initially opening NMJToolbox2 and on the movies tab.

Hi, I am looking to buy an A-300 and would like some guidance if possible please before pushing the button.

After reading the thread I am happy the Popcorn Jukebox will work with my Synology Nas even though reviews state otherwise.

At present I have 2 Mede8ers using YAMJ 2 Mede8er to create the jukebox for my movies.

Can I continue to use this side by side with the jukebox for the Popcorn Hour A-300?

I am hoping the Popcorn Jukebox will create a seperate file on my NAS and work along side the Mede8er Jukebox .

Regards mipmip.
