Give it time though, maybe Himedia will tart up the in-built "movie wall" to be more functional over time too.

I think you are right....the problem is that its too new....but the powerful chip bodes well for the future !!!

Ps and its the only one that plays 3d blu ray isos !!!

There are a ton of menu options within the Android section, but most don't seem to do anything. However, in my opinion, the overall design of them is better than the native menus.

From what I can tell, you can only install new apps using a SD card, but Android doesn't recognise mine.
So do I take it you cannot access the Android Market to download apps? As an Android phone user I would like to have access to some of my apps direct on the TV if this isn't possible I may give this unit a miss for now.

Currently, no, the Android Market is inaccessible. The only way to add apps is to have the actual .apk file on a USB stick and install it via the menus.

Also I retract a little bit on what I posted previously, the Android section is just about usable, providing you have a mouse. But it is still prone to crashing and quite slow.

i haven't got one of these, but following it with interest as a potential replacement for my a-110 mostly for 3d BD iso support.

For your hdd it may be worth looking at the drive in EASEUS partition manager or similar.....see if it is set as Primary and Active.

IIRC I've had wii and xbox 360 problems in past not recognising ntfs drives when thats not been set

Try plugging it in to the other USB port if you haven't already tried. My external HDD only shows up on one of the ports.

Ok The strange thing is when the external disk is almost full then it needs a 30" delay to recognise .... As far as I tried to find a solution this is a bug...and reported already...

The problem solved with another external disk 500GB Seagate and I remove the Maxtor 1T . I think I will go with LaCie or Seagate next time

As now for the 900B I don't like the way you sync the subs because it pauses the movie .In my A1080 you could do it during the movie without stop

can I ask...I see it says

Quote:
The 900B can play Blu-Ray ISOs in full 3D exactly as you would get from a Blu-Ray player (BD-Profile 1.0 menus / BD-Lite only). Note that all equipment must be HDMI 1.4 for frame-packed 3D. The HiMedia 900B is currently the only Media Player in the world to support 3D Blu-Ray ISOs.

Now, with knowing very little about 3d blurays as yet to own 3d at home (my only experience being theme parks lol), how do you tell the difference between BD-Profile 1.0/BD-Lite and any other formats?

Is there many discs in 3d out there that, when ripped to iso, would have a format other than the 2 mentioned? And if they did is it easy to change/fix?

Hello guys,

I am thinking about buying one, but have a question.

Does it support 3TB NTFS formatted USB 3.0 external hard drives (All my MKV 1080p movies are two of those Seagate Goflex 3 TB drives) ? My research showed that many of the streamers do not have this support and won't detect external drives above 2TB.

Please advise.

Cheers,
Hemanth

Hi to all!

I'm considering this player to replace my TVIX S1, so there are some questions i have:

1 - Can it use external subtitles on BDMV/BDISO files?
2 - Is there any key on the remote that allows a quick change on the aspect ratio, so 4:3 material can be stretched to fill the all screen?
3 - How does it behave with high bitrate material over network (samba/nfs), like framestor mkv releases?

Regards.

I just connected my Himedia HD900B and there is a resolution problem. I tried it on a couple of tvs and a 32" and a 42" but always the same problem. The screen output of the player is bigger than the tv and it cuts out everything around. i changed the aspect ratio and on tv and on the player but still the same problem.
Is there a solution to my problem?

Unfortunately not. The problem seems to exist especially during the android applications and android application menu.
