Definately soon

how long is 'soon' though is anybodies guess
but I can confirm it will be before hell freezes over, but after I have posted this reply - but that is as acurate as I can be I'm afraid

Lol.....thanks for the clarification.

Anyone willing to spend all their time investigating/researching when hell is due to freeze? You'll be doing a great service to your fellow members, Dune owners and your country

Sorry for asking this: I have just received my D1, everything is working perfectly, even Yadis. I am using 110606_1315 firmware as AFAIK this is the latest stable one

Could you please tell me if it is worthwhile to update to the Beta released this year? I do not want to have issues with DTS-HD, my D1 is working perfectly now, but maybe I am missing some new fancy features

Many thanks

upgrade to the 120202 beta, it works very well with the D1 (only the TV101 has the DTS HD problem)

Incorrect. The D1 has an issue from 110606_1315_update1 where downmixing hd only goes to stereo.

if you're using hdmi then it isnt an issue.

All new D1s should be shipping with update1 and you cant downgrade it because the hardware is incompatible (you get error 219)

not using downmix, so I didn't know that . In fact 120202 even solved a small problem about some 7.1 audio tracks dropouts.

About the hardware change : so this is real ? What changes have been done for being unable to downgrade ?

I dont know the details but the D1s had some kind of hardware change and _update1 was required for that change.

My D1 arrived two weeks ago with the D1 update. Last night I found a group of MKV movies that will not play correct. All the TV episodes are the same name just different episodes. I get audio but no video for these shows. These shows work fine on my Popcorn hour A-210.

I was wondering if anything thought one of the beta versions would or could fix that issue? Just an odd issue.

try it, you can always rollback to the shipped version (I assume _update1)

Tried the update and it didn't help the problem. I ended up changing the setting from 1080p/60 to Auto (EDID) and it worked no problem. It is only for the one TV series that I am having a problem with so not a huge deal.

Thanks for your help.

Can't your TV handle 1080p/24Hz? Set it to 1080p 23.976 and then the frame rate to Auto 50/60/24, that should cover all frame rates.

I think it has to do more with that particular TV. 1080p/24 does work fine on everything else I have on my NAS. I had my Dune set to 1080/60 with Auto 50/60/24. I didn't even think of setting it to the 1080p/23.976 with auto 50/60/24 for everything else.

Another month nearly over. Any sign of this mythical update being released into the wild?

Seems like they give everyone the run around on the PCM issue. Would be nice if they put an official notice that they are working on this issue on the website so that at the very least people have some confidence.

Indeed. Particularly as some of us bought the 101 expecting it to support HD audio (which Dune originally stated it would).

Wish I'd just returned it for a refund in the first place now as 4 months on I'm left with something that won't play half my stuff...

I returned my two 101 units and really wish I didn't have to do that. Now I have two of the H1 units arriving tomorrow for the bedrooms. I hope they do patch that in for the units so that your 101's are not wasted.

There is an unofficial patch available for the Smart players to enable full 5.1/7.1 decoding to LPCM - http://dune.do.am/dune_service_enabl...l_decoding.dsf
Although for the Smart players it is said to 'probably work' on the TV players.
More info on the russian forum (use Google translate): HDTV ( Invision Power Board)

***This is an unofficial patch so if you do install it you do so at your own risk***

Mark.

Is this a hint at there being a video wall in a new Dune firmware
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...69066499771329
or just wishful thinking

I was wondering that myself. I wonder if it is the new GUI or an actual movie wall. I like the simplistic look of yaDIS and the current GUI of Dune. This is how simple I keep mine. Movies and TV is the yaDIS and the New TV Shows is just new shows that I watch and delete.

Further proof new firmware is imminent?

http://dune-hd.com/news/321-dune-hd-...broadband.html

Also that discounted TV-101 price. Is that for companies or consumers?

Well there is a new firmware out there - sort of
Google Translate

If you decide to install this you do so at your own risk as it is not an official Dune release for general use.
