Depending on your output setting it may output more than one file but what is your point?

I converted all of my HD DVDs to BD folders using ClownBD and all play great on my PCH C-200. Only disc I have problems with is Oceans12 which my BD/Combo drive seems to hate

One thing to note is ClownBD doesn't handle DD+ passthrough so you have to convert that to another format (whether AC3 or PCM).

ToNMT works OK on my Windows 7...it is Java based so it shouldn't be an issue. Are you using version 6.0.5 i.e. the latest? Have you installed Java?

ToNMT will create a .ts file which is good for A110

I haven't used ClownBD but others have from what I have read - you need to use this to convert it to a BD folder structure for the A200/C200.

Otherwise I'm sure you could use a combination of eac3to and tsmuxer...

The A110 is not good with DD+ so I always use the SD audio setting in ToNMT (most DD+ on HD-DVD are 640kbps anyway). If you do have a 1.5mbps DD+ soundtrack you may want to look into converting it to DTS...

Its a shame that there isn't a bluray/hd dvd shrink as this is all confusing!

All I want to do it strip the movie and one audio file!

Rom can you tell me in more detail on how to use bd clown?

No, I have anydvdHD running in the system tray and use ClownBD directly against the disc in the drive to rip to the hard drive.

Thanks again.

About DD+:

I left DD+ "unconverted" in Clown. But when I played it, the media player recognises the audio as LPCM. I am assuming that this is incorrect and therefore I should click on convert to AC3?

If it is reporting LPCM then it has de-compressed the audio which is fine, it will be compatable will the majority of players but the space it takes up will be greater. You could convert to AC3 which would make your rip smaller in filesize.

It is entirely up to you.

But then again my media player can't output truehd or dts-hd. So therefore maybe its converting DD+ to LPCM.

Rom, for DD+ hd dvds I should convert them to AC3? But for hd audio I should leave them as unconverted?

It all depends on the features of your media player. if it can't handle HD audio but can downconvert or extract the core audio (which a few do) then unconverted is fine. Its just DD+ which is a special case. Best thing is to try it and see if you get audio & what you get. it will vary depending on your player.

My C-200 can do all HD audio so I leave unconverted for everything (except DD+).

The other problem with unconverted DD+ is that my amp plays it back so quietly! And it also lacks any surround sound feel!

I don't think DD+ sounds better anyway (probably get shot for saying that).

Hi,

I have just bought an AcRyan Playon Hd via these forums and having problems geting Bluray files to play the audio, now having hunted the t'internet I realise that the Playone won't work with DTS audio files via HDMI on the 3 different TV's that I have tried, it works fine via Spdif to an amp.

I need to find out how to redo my Bluray ISO's, .ts and .m2ts files so that the DTS audio will work, the Playon picks up other audio from these Buray rips, sucvh as director's commentary etc.

I have tried using ClownBD and ToNMT but unsure of the correct settings to strip out the audio correctly to work on the Playon. I am busy trying another file on ToNMT and have ticked the Bluray "CORE DTS/TRUE HD box is that right?

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Mike.

Hi,

well it stripped out the core audio but my Playon will NOT play DTS via the HDMI lead as it says on screen ' DTS audio use and external amp'

Now I know even without stripping out the core audio that it plays via an amp but what I need it it play non DTS audio via HDMI, the Playon doesn't decode DTS as it isn't allowed on the Realtek chip as they didn't buy the license

Can I convert the audio to play on the Playon?

If so what do I use and how do I do it. I am really just looking for a foolproof way of loading files onto it for my dad to play via his HDTV thru HDMI.

If using ClownBD then you need to check the convert to LPCM option. This is standard uncompressed analogue audio which should be fine for your TV.

Hi,

nothing to do with tv, unfortunately it's how the Playon handles or should I say doesn't handle DTS, the ToNMT option I tried earlier failed too.

Giving up with trying to sort sound and will just have to learn my dad how to switch digital inputs on his toshiba amp/dvd player

I didn't say it was to do with your TV.

The PlayOn cannot decode DTS and neither can your TV, thats why you have no sound. That is why I said to convert to LPCM so the Playon can output plain analog sound which your TV will output.

Hi,

sorry thought you were referring to the Playon problem of not playing sound via HDMI on certain TV's LG and Samsung being two that I have read about along with a Sony model too I think. When said nothing to do with TV I was agreeing with you

As I said will forget about it and just set my dad's dvd/amp to co-ax digital and he can switch between that and optical for his Freesat HD, saves me doing one rip for me and another for my dad.

I have tried coverting to LPCM and still no joy.

Mike.

You would probably need to convert the DTS to 2 Channel PCM for it to work via the TV - I doubt that would accept 5.1 PCM either.

As you say best to use the amp

Thanks.

I am getting a WD TV Live & would like to know is it possable to rip a DVD containing a series ie Friends & be able to choose the individual episodes on the WD TV Live.

I would prefer to keep it lossless (or only small amounts of compression) as I will be using a NAS so space is not a big problem

I've tried to download the ClownBD software from a couple of places now and each time my Mcafee kicks off claiming to have found a trojan in the main .exe file.

It's called "Generic.dx!rpd" - anyone else had this problem?

if you downloaded from the official site:

clownbd.com

And you still get the error/warning then McAfee is probably throwing you a false positive result.

Your anti-virus software is throwing a false positive.

ClownBD doesn't contain a trojan.

Easy for you to say! Another thing entirely to take the risk...

Will look into raising it with Mcafee somehow.

I've been using ClownBD for well over a year and it isn't a trojan.

There are plenty of other anti-virus packages out there that don't report ClownBD as a threat. Mine doesn't.

How to convert ISO file to Bluray from the same bluray disc???

Hello,

I made a home video from my HD camcorder and when I transferred it on to my computer I saved the file as an ISO and burned the ISO file as a 'Data Disc' rather than 'BDMW AV Disc'. So now when I put the disc into my PS3 or BD Player I cant play my home movie.

What my question is that is it possible to convert the ISO file, from the same disc, to a file that can be playable in my PS3 or BD Player??

I rather not make another copy as the discs are pretty expensive and would not like to waste this one.

Any help would be grateful.

Thanks
