Tvix 6500a - is recorder worth it ?

Hi guys
I am planning to buy Tvix 6500a as I've read all the positives here. One thing however I am not sure.
By going for Tvix 6500a I also plan it to use as TV recorder. It does have DVB T tuner so I suppose that I could be watching one channel on my plasma and resording other channel program - right ? Also would the recording be of a good quality ? How then after some days I could get back to the recorded program ? Would I be able to go to file with all my recordings and find it there and play it back ?
