Best Multimedia Player?

I am after a decent Multimedia player with a budget of £300-£400. Mainly interested in a device that can play/stream almost anything..... and that has a decent UI to it. I have been looking at the Tvix 6600N, c-200 and PlayonHD but i cant really tell which is the best of them at doing what I need.

Are there any others ? what would you go for ?

Cheers.

Re: Best Multimedia Player?

Take a look at the WD TV Live. This is the networked version of the popular WD TV. It plays almost anything apparently, including HD video. Cheap, too.

Re: Best Multimedia Player?

None of the multimedia 'streamers' is the finished article - they are all a work in progress, rely on end users being 'into' the technology and all have various shortcomings.

The day Sonos (or similar) deliver a unit that's as intuitive and stable as the 'audio only' models they will be quids in.

Do lots of research, be prepared for lots of hassle and be happy if you can cover your 'key' requirements and don't go searching for features/support for stuff you really don't require.

There is a separate Forum for multimedia streamers - Streamers & Network Media Players - AVForums.com

Re: Best Multimedia Player?

And if you find the perfect player - purchase lots of them and then sell them at a premium
