Can Slingcatcher play files from NAS?

Can Slingcatcher play files from NAS?
Following on from this thread:

I was just doing some reading on Slingmedia and it suggests that the latest version of the SlingCatcher software supports NAS. However its not clear on whether you still need a PC running in order to stream the files to the SlingCatcher.

Can SlingCatcher running the 1.0.0.57 software play files from a NAS media server without having to have the PC on?
