popcorn hour and mac external harddisks

newbie query!

I am a mac user but I do not have a popcorn hour yet.

I have a mac formatted external harddisk. it's formatted such that I can transfer files larger than 4 gigs. currently this external can only be read on macs and not on pcs.

will the popcorn hour recognise the external harddisk?

if not, what do I need to do such that the popcorn hour will recognise this external harddisk?

thanks for your time.

stephen

Re: popcorn hour and mac external harddisks

It depends on what format the disk is in, Have a look here under file systems to see.

I'm not familar with Macs so unsure what file system they use (HFS?)

Re: popcorn hour and mac external harddisks

I'm not familiar with the PCH, but if it supports NTFS you could always install NTFS 3G on your Mac. Its a free NTFS driver that works perfectly. Your Mac will read/write to any NTFS formatted disk.

I regularly have to transfer very large backup files (10gb+) from an NTFS formatted external HDD to our servers via my Mac and it works flawlessly.

Mark.
