Hull City going down...

...please can I have sympathy from everyone. Don't be mean. The greatest collapse in Premier League history is punishment enough.

Thanks and well done to the teams who stayed up, especially Stoke (god damn it that hurts).

Re: Hull City going down...

Was it Hull that had the unexpected super start to the premier league??

Where did it all go wrong?

Re: Hull City going down...

Don't lose faith just yet; a bit of effort and luck against Bolton on Saturday and we'll be right back in there. I can't see Newcastle beating Fulham or Villa so a win or maybe even a draw could well be sufficient. Fingers crossed!

Re: Hull City going down...

As above, I feel you've got a chance of clinging on here, Newcastle are going to struggle in the last 2 games and I think you've got more chance against Bolton than they have in both their games, don't really want to see either team go down but that's how it goes sometimes, best of luck to you guys though!

I want Hull to stay up, I want Newcastle to go down.
I like Hull, because you (used to?) have Dean Windass.
An Aberdeen legend.

Re: Hull City going down...

As a neutral i'd have preferred it if Newcastle went down

As it is, it looks very much like they escaped.

I doubt that Hull could beat Colchester United let alone Man United at the moment.

Almost a racing certainty that Hull will go down now as I see them losing both of their final games.

Even if Newcastle lose their last 2 games (possible) this still isn't enough to save Hull.

Looking at the remaining 2 fixtures left, I think the bottom 3 is now decided and would say it's at least a 20-1 shot that just one of Hull, WBA or Boro will survive.

Final predictions

WBA - 32 pts - 20th
Boro - 32 pts - 19th
Hull - 34 pts - 18th

Re: Hull City going down...

I think the writing is on the wall which is why I made the post 2 weeks (maybe 1 week) early. No way in the world we will get any points from our last two games with players such as Geovanni, who should be one of the main people in the team, saying they want to leave already.

Things may work in your favour.
Assuming Man Utd can win the title before they play you, they may well treat the game against you as a pain in the ass, choosing to rest senior players for the CL final.
So there's maybe a good chance of you getting something off them.

Re: Hull City going down...

As an aside, with you mentioning Geovanni wanting to leave already.
I had to laugh at the Setanta commentators saying how relaxed the Newcastle and 'brough players looked, prior to the game.
Why do you (the commentator) think they looked relaxed, you fool?
Because relegation means nothing to them.
They know they'll be sold or they can slap a transfer in.
They couldn't give a flying ****.
Maybe Downing, who's a 'brough fan.
But you can bet your ass he'll still leave, if they go down.
With some lip-service to "the club getting good money when they need it"
If they really cared, they'd honour their contract and stay.
Not many do that.
I remember Alan Amith saying he'd do it for Leeds, that didn't last long either.

Re: Hull City going down...

The ony person in our squad which that might apply to would be Michael Turner (Bullard has already said he would stay, probably because he wouldn't get a better deal) but to be fair if we do go down I want him to do well at a bigger club and go on to play for England, he deserves it.

Re: Hull City going down...

I think Bullard would easily get a premiership deal.
Any one of the promoted clubs would want him, for a start.

Not for £5 million and £50k a week they wouldn't, with his dodgy knee!

Re: Hull City going down...

I've lost track of Bullard, really.
He said he'd take a paycut to stay at Fulham, didn't he?
He then, evidently, went to Hull.
£50k a week?
Really?
At Hull?
Christ, that must have been your entire starting 11 salaries combined, in the championship.

Re: Hull City going down...

Just about...the club reckon it's £45k a week but insiders say it's nearer £50k so That's who I'll believe! It will not be pleasant for us in the Championship having to pay that for another 4 years!
