Boxing - Pretty Boy to return Good Times

Floyd Mayweather is poised for a dramatic return to boxing.

Sky Sports News understands that the Pretty Boy will make a comeback on July 18 against Mexican ace Juan Manuel Marquez.

An official announcement is expected in the next few days, possibly after Ricky Hatton takes on Manny Pacquiao on Saturday night, live on Sky Box Office.

The news will come as a huge pre-fight boost to Hatton, because it is also understood that the winner of that will meet the winner of Mayweather-Marquez, probably at the tail-end of the year.

Hatton has always craved a rematch since his 10-round schooling at the hands of the former pound-for-pound king in December 2007.

That was the last time Mayweather Jr boxed but it is well-known that he has kept himself in shape.

Before Saturday's superfight was signed and sealed there were also strong rumours of an four-way eliminator with involving the Pretty Boy, Hatton, Pacquiao and Marquez, with the winners facing off in another blockbusting battle for pound-for-pound supremacy.

And in the run-up to the Hitman's showdown with Pacquiao, his trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr all but confirmed his soon would soon be back in the ring.

Re: Boxing - Pretty Boy to return Good Times

I hope he makes this his last fight, he doesn't need the money, he doesn't need to prove himself, to me this fight is pointless from his point of view...

If he loses, that's his perfect record gone, there's no going back on that, luckily he's not been long retired and as you said he's still in shape.

I have a lot of respect for him as a fighter, I hate to see fighters like him throw a good thing away.

If it goes ahead, I hope he wins, but a struggle of a victory on points that way maybe he'll stay in retirement.

The fight is listed on Boxrec too so chances are it will happen.

Re: Boxing - Pretty Boy to return Good Times

Mayweathers problem could be the same that a lot of top fighters suffer from,
it must be hard to get motivated for all the training, dieting etc when you have millions sat in the bank and nothing to prove

I think the so called P4P title is a bit of a joke really,it is another way of hyping fights. The title should be best boxer on the planet,we all know who was and if he still is will be seen in the coming months
