Manny Pacquiao v's Ricky Hatton
Is anyone making the journey across the pond to see what promises to be a classic fight?
If not who's ordering this on box office and what do you think will be the outcome?

Re: Manny Pacquiao v's Ricky Hatton
I will be ordering on box office, I think Hatton will win this one.
Also looking to watch another good fight this weekend, Carl Froch vs. Jermain Taylor.
Not on TV in the UK, but you can get it here... Froch V Taylor: Live & Exclusive Pay Per View on frochvtaylor.com
And for June we have this on Setanta...
David Haye vs. Wladimir Klitschko
Some great fights coming up for British fighters.

Froch v taylor is on ITV4 sunday night at 8:30pm and then ITV1 11:15pm, how is the only british world champion not having his fight shown live on uk tv is beyond me. Mick Hennessy probably demanding too much money.
On the hatton v pacman topic, i've got a feeling for hatton, pacman is no floyd and hatton has got more power that de la hoya. Pacman retires on his stool in the later rounds

Re: Manny Pacquiao v's Ricky Hatton
My heart says Hatton but my head says Pac. Ricky doesn't do to well against southpaws and Pac is lightning quick to go with it. I think Ricky needs to get him against the ropes and pummel the body to win it but pacs so quick on his feet i think that he's really going to struggle pinning him down.

Re: Manny Pacquiao v's Ricky Hatton
Personally I can't see Hatton doing much against Pacman.
I'll be putting money on this one.

Re: Manny Pacquiao v's Ricky Hatton
Well its a question of if Pac's got the power to hurt Hatton. The way Ricky fights coupled with the fact that he's got no defence you know he's going to take shots as he tries to close the space between him and Pac to set up his own shots.
If he can get in close without taking to much punishment and land some good body shots he's got a good chance.
Pac's been ko'd twice before with bodyshots albeit early on his career at a lighter weightclass.

Re: Manny Pacquiao v's Ricky Hatton
Personally I believe Pac is the best pound for pound fighter around now Mayweather's called it quits, there's very little in the height and Pac has two inches on the reach over Hatton.
It has the makings for a good fight, but i'm not a huge Hatton fan, my love lies with Calzaghe.
Hatton lost a lot of respect with me when he started jumping around divisions and messing promoters about.
He often underestimates his opponent, or overestimates his talent... I think this fight could be a bit of a decider for his career direction.
Either way I think Pac will be too much for him, speed, power and movement, that's everything Mayweather used against Hatton.

Re: Manny Pacquiao v's Ricky Hatton
Pac's not anywhere near as good with his defence as floyd though.
Its definitely a career defining fight for Ricky though.

Pac may not be the best defensive fighter, but although he fighst in straight lines , he is quick and fires of a flurry each time he attacks, I got money on a tenth round stoppage by Paquio.

Re: Manny Pacquiao v's Ricky Hatton
My 2p - Floyd Snr. seems to have taught an old dog a few new tricks and he finally has some lateral movement on the way in so i don't think he'll be as much of an easy target as he walks Pac down.
DLH looked shot in many ways against Pac and i certainly don't think he has the power to really hurt Hatton in one flurry, an accumulation of several rounds will be needed by him to slow Hatton down.
I just question whether Hatton will rise to the occassion or perhaps let it get to him that he's now at make or break time in his career. I'd love to see him win but i can see Pac staying on the outside for the entirety of the fight and simply frustrating him.

Re: Manny Pacquiao v's Ricky Hatton
I'd love to be going out to Vegas to watch the fight. I was out in the States last November and re jiggled my itenerary to get to Vegas a couple of days early in the hope of getting tickets for the Hatton Malignaggi fight. I arrived on the afternoon of the fight and amzingly it wasn't sold out. Unfortuanetly, MGM only had $300 tickets left. 2 tickets with a pants exchange rate meant I had to try and find a hotle showing the fight. The fact it was on PPV meant no one was showing it. Just as I was about to give up, I wondered into the Planet Hollywood result and saw the build up on the casino screens. They were showing the fight thank goodness, so I guess I can say I've seen Ricky Hatton fight in Las Vegas LOL. The atmosphere out there was great with Hatton fans everywhere. This time I'll have to make do with SBO.

Re: Manny Pacquiao v's Ricky Hatton
I dont think he'll have any problems mentally for this fight. There's been no trash talking between him and Manny, they've just let roach and mayweather get on with it.
He lost it before he fought mayweather imo as he let floyd get to him in the build up (he wouldn't have won anyway).

Re: Manny Pacquiao v's Ricky Hatton
Me and six mates arrive in Vegas at 3pm on fight day for a week's break, so we'll be heading for the sports bar at our hotel and settling in for the evening
I think Hatton's only chance is to cut down the ring and trap Pacman so he can work him over, but with Pacman having a speed and reach advantage Hatton's going to have to get in close, and Ricky's proven to be extremely vulnerable to cuts if there's any clash of heads.
Can't wait - I'm sure the atmosphere will be epic.

Re: Manny Pacquiao v's Ricky Hatton
i think hatton needs to hound pac-man from the start, just go all out attack, attack that body and work him, its tough to call the fight even though ive got a bet on the outcome
