NBA playoffs thread

I'm watching 76ers-Magic at the moment. in their first playoff game of the series.
I am very excited about these playoffs. Who do you guys think can go all the way?

I reckon Cavs are going to be very hard to beat if LeBron plays the way he did last night. He was incredible.

Re: NBA playoffs thread

Philadelphia won after a late Iguodala clutch 2 with 2.2 seconds remaining saw them beat the Magic 100-98. A fantastic game. Orlando had a real implosion as they were 18 points up and cruising in the third.

I really hope Bulls can knock out the Celtics for the British players of Gordon and Deng (although Deng is injured). they claimed a great first win last night away against the Celtics. Rose was superb scoring 36 points and 10 assists.

Post up your thoughts on their chances guys.

BBC SPORT | Other sport... | Basketball | Superstar James targets NBA glory
Here is a very interesting article on the playoffs and LeBron James in particular. There is good news about the star Great Britain player Luol Deng, which states that if the Bulls get far in the playoffs then he could have a part to play.

Mavs won the first game of their series already and it was away. It won't be that 1 sided.

I reckon
Lakers 4-2 Jazz
Nuggets 4-3 hornets
Spurs 2-4Mavericks
Blazers 3-4 Rockets

Cavaliers 4-0 Pistons
Celtics 4-3 Bulls
Magic 4-2 Sixes
Hawks 1-4 Heat (i hope Wade turns it on!)

we'll see more about a Celtics comeback after tonight. Even though bulls are on form I think Celtics are gonna give a big fight. They are champions after all.

personally im a nuggets fan, and hope they win.

cavs have played superbly this season, and king james is excelling himself even further already, i cant help but think tho, that cavs will get to the final, and pressure get to them or more particularly lebron. Ive a feeling it will be the Lakers year

Denver looked very good in beating the Hornets. I reckon they can definitely beat the Mavericks in the next round. Hopefully they can reach the final. It should be good

I reckon whichever team gets out from Bulls and Celtics will give the Cavs a great game. These two teams are so tough and will have so much momentum if they get out of this series.

Re: NBA playoffs thread

The Boston Chicago series was just incredible and probably the best i've seen for years.

Chicago really surprised everyone and i think if Rose had of had another years NBA experience under his belt they would have gone through, he had a great series but made some really bad decisions at crucial times which was all about experience/composure.

Boston just aren't right at the moment, without KG/Powe and a largely poor Pierce so far you have a team which is very beatable.

Can't see it being anything other than a Cavs/Lakers final and the way Cleveland are flying this year barring injuries i think they have too many guns going forward and are better defensively than LA.

yeah I can't believe they got suspended for that. Alston just slapped House. In the first round Rondo slammed Hinrich into the table and he didn't get any suspension! I can't understand!?

I'm glad I stayed up to watch the game last night, great stuff game and fully deserved for the Magic

Their going to wrap it up in Cleveland, I feel a bit sorry for King James, come crunch time their a one man team.

The refs made some terrible calls too.

Lakers won last night. so they have won the Western conference. They have been playing some great basketball in the past two games and will be extremely hard to beat.

I hope that Magic win tonight because I don't think the Cavs will stand a chance against the Lakers unless their shooters like Williams are back on form.

Re: NBA playoffs thread

Have been in the states and canada for the conference finals so got to watch just about every match live

Just watched game 6 Orl v Cle and man o man Orlando really showed up Cleveland as a one man team again, Mo Williams was a different player in the playoffs versus the regular season .....they really needed him on top of his game. But the biggest problem is the fact that nobody on the team can defend Howard.......the ben wallace experiment was as expected a massive failure and varajao is totally useless defending in the post.

I think the Lakers should match up well though and i can't see Orlando getting past them, Orlando would never have got past a fit Boston squad and we all saw what happened last season in the finals.
