It would have been Vidic for me too but he had quite a big slump for a month so i'm going to say Stevie Gerrard as for me over the season he has been more consistent.

Michael Turner - Hull City

We got him from Brentford in 2006 and he's stepped up to the Premier League brilliantly, gone toe to toe with the best forwards in the League and on occasion made them look daft. He doesn't go to ground, took elbows in the face from Fellaini and didn't even blink let alone drop like a nancy boy. Were it not for a small injury he'd probably have had a call up to Cappello's England squad for the last game, enquiries were made but he was not 100% fit. He will definitely play for England though. We'll lose him at the end of this season to a much bigger club which is a shame but nothing more than he deserves. You can keep your Vidic etc. Michael Turner is The Man, a genuine English hero and nice guy in the EPL destined for big things.

For these reasons he should also be the neutral fan's player of the season, not just me, a Hull City supporter!

Can't be Steven Gerrard after his off the pitch antics, even though he's been half decent on the pitch.

Ledley King - Best defender in the premier league, makes everything look so easy even when under pressure (unlike vidic who just gets sent off).

Would be an england regular CB if it wasn't for his knee problems.

Hes made a Massive difference hasn't he. I actually think he was missed more this season than Carvalho was the other season when he got injured.

Yep...he is a great box to box player. Carvalho was our best defender but he seems to have lost a yard of pace...maybe lack of match practice. Saying that Alex has been doing a fine job standing in for him.
