Whilst not being a Man Utd fan (at all) I cant see how the list is a joke, even if you take where the teams are now Utd are top of the Premier League.

But isn't the vote for the player they consider the best during whole of 2008 not the 2008/2009 season?

It's therefore understandable why it's dominated by Man Utd players.

I'd say it was a pretty accurate list but i'm a bit surprised to see Giggs and VDS in there though. Given where Villa were in the table at the time i would've thought at least one of their young forwards would be on the list or can they only qualify for young player of the year?

It has to be either Vidic or Gerrard imo - the rest don't come close.

I'm not suprised to see Giggs in there to be honest as he has played superbly. If he wins, it might be a bit of a sympathy vote as he's never won it before AFAIK. VDS, I don't agree with, although he had that incredible record of clean sheets, that was down, in part, to a superb defence playing in front of him, he hardly had a save to make! We all know what happened after injuries and suspensions afflicted the back 4.

The biggest surprise for me though was why Fat Frank wasn't included.

For me, though the best player of the season has been Vidic. He is one of the best defenders in the world by a mile. Stevie G would be a close second for me.

The Players that have been voted i think are there for a reason. they Do deserve it, The start of the season the top 4 where all playing very well, but now man Utd i would say are on a slight down you still cant take it away from the players.
