Shearer To Manage Newcastle Until End Of Season

Breaking news on SKY that Shearer is to manage the Toon until end of season.

Easy option me thinks as he can't fail. If he avoids relegation he's a hero, if they don't he can walk away as it was only a short term contract !!

Still surprised he didn't stick with his BBC contract though.

Re: Shearer To Manage Newcastle Until End Of Season

I was going to post in the relegation thread about the BBC story...

Even better news. Shearer is not boring the nation on MOTD and Newcastle go down

Re: Shearer To Manage Newcastle Until End Of Season

Shearer, Shearer, Shearer ! Welcome back !

It must be my birthday or something cause this is the best news i've had all year !! Hopefully he'll be able to put a little fighting spirit into the team to cary us to safety then look to cut out the deadwood and attract some good, young players for next season ! Let's hope Ashley back's him in the wayhe was going to when he brought Keegan in !

Toon, Toon, Black & White Army

Not anymore !!!

Sure, why not just get Jamie Redknapp to replace him at the BBC and he can bore us all to tears

Hey LFC,

Let's leave the talk about relegation to other teams. More importantly are you still conceding the premiership to us or have you finally seen the light and realised that your drought could be over ??

Re: Shearer To Manage Newcastle Until End Of Season

They're a bit early with the April's Fool aren't they?

I think Ashley needs to grow some balls and do what is actually best for the club rather than pandering to the fans and trying to win brownie points.

Is a man with zero mangerial experience what Newcastle need in their hour of need?

Is that an answer to the first or second question?

I was thinking the same myself. Mind you Shearer is really in a no lose situation here I think, because a lot of people expect Newcastle to go down, so if he manages to pox his way out of it he'll be a hero

Re: Shearer To Manage Newcastle Until End Of Season

just appeared on Shearer's Wiki entry:
On the 1st of April 2009 (April Fools Day) he was thought to have become manager of Newcastle FC in what turns out to be a nasty prank by the print media at the expense of the long suffering Geordie fans.

though he appears on Newcastle's Wiki entry as current manager

5 Live's 9-10am phone in is supposed to be about the news. Still not convinced myself.
