Football - very tough times ahead for some?

Does anyone else think that some clubs are going to struggle financially in the next year or two?

I read a piece the other day that hundreds of professionals are likely to be unemployed, perhaps as early as the start of next season, due to the money problems that many clubs are having.

And this problem is not just confined to the Championship and below.

Many Premier League teams have got wage bills way beyond their income, and the increasing number of empty seats at stadia must be worrying for chairmen. Plus it has been reported that many teams are expecting greatly reduced season ticket sales next season. I have also noticed that it is now quite easy to get tickets for many EPL games, whereas in the past there wasn't any hope at all.

Perhaps its about time too. The money just got out of control, and although it may continue among the likes of the big 4, I think many are going to be cutting back next season.

They are VERY lucky that Sky bid so much for the rights, otherwise it might have been a lot worse.

Any thoughts?
