Wembley to host 2011 Champions League final

Wembley Stadium has been chosen by UEFA as the venue for the 2011 Champions League final.

Wembley beat off German competition

The stadium was selected ahead of Munich's Allianz Arena and Berlin's Olympiastadion.

The decision in Wembley's favour was expected - UEFA had previously delayed a decision on the 2011 venue specifically to allow the UK Government time to push through an exemption on tax rules for the players appearing in the final.

I hope it's a better game than the last final at Wembley between Barca and Sampdoria.

Also announced today is the New Landsdowne Road in Dublin will host the Uefa cup in the same year, the first time a major final has ever been held in Ireland.

I thought the Wembley announcement was made a few months back - definitely heard it already, even allowing for a tax issue. But good news anyway, as long as I can win a ticket in the UEFA lottery/scam

Dublin is an even better announcement - town will be buzzing that night.

Apply unter 20 names, and go for higher category, you'll get it pretty sure!

Munich got the game year after!

How can you apply under 20 different names?

Surely your name of entry must match that on the credit card. I always thought that they would be very tough on multiple applications. And I even believe that those who apply with Visa numbers are automatically binned, since Mastercard is the main sponsor!!

this is what most people think, but you can do it, no worries. name/card match is no issue.
i know enough people who did it very successfully

Might just try it this year.

I guess then that the whole 'we will cancel your tickets if you apply more than once' is only to scare people from multiple applications, and it probably works with most people. It fooled me.

well, sort of. they actually placed some ridiculous safety mechanism on their site where they place a cookie with long validity after each order onto your computer that should prevent you from placing a next order. you just clear cookies or start another browser and it all works fine.

there are two more points about master card orders.
first, noone is forced to have that credit card and there is no legal way to prevent your spouse, parent or a friend to pay for you, and second, (you might not believe this) there is no name check during online validity check for master card (i worked on one online shop creation and was shocked to find that out)

the whole story with tickets is just a big business and as long as they sell out they are fine with anything.

one more story: (might be interesting) last summer during euro ticketing process, uefa doublechecked all names and suspended some tickets (i think starting with 4 or 5 successfull orders) , but only those paid thru wire transfer. they never touched anyone who paid thru master. ridiculous, insn't it? don't touch main sponsor - he pays a lot!!!!

so all in all, don't be afraid to walk around the fence a bit. if you really want to go, you should be able to get what you need.
