AV Forums - Golf day 7 - The Midlands/North

Hello AVForum Golfers,

I'm offering to set up a golf day for April/May near Winchester.

Please fill in which dates suit and we can get sorted.

The regulars from Manchester, Burton and Barnsley have already expressed interest so it'd be great if some forum members from the south could make it.

Anu questions, send me a message.

Look forward to seeing you all.

Dean

Confirmed so far

domtheone
deanym
ultima
signs
Woodywizz
C225.

I think the two best dates would be 24th April or 29th May

I've checked out the usual suspects but can find anyone who flies from Ireland to Southampton.

re: AV Forums - Golf day 7 - The Midlands/North

There are loads of flights between edinburgh and southampton with flybe only problem is the charge for the clubs is more expesive than the ticket for me

Ps shouldn't this be number golf day 7?

Edit: I just voted for the days with the cheapest room at the travelodge in southampton. But the 24th of April date would be my Best date

Flybe go out from Dublin but the cheapest flights I can find are about £130
Flight times aren't great either as the earliest flight gets into Southampton at 10.15, so I'd need a 2 night stay.

Looks like I'll be giving this one a miss.

Thats a bit of a bugger a flight from edinburgh gets in at 8:15 and return is £55 with Clubs at £45 return

So £100 in flights about £30 for hotel for a night plus golf costs and night out costs. Doesn't sound too bad on price for me.

Dony. Ryanair do Dublin to Bournmouth for about 65 euros I think. A little further away than Southampton, but still close.

Don't book your clubs on when you buy your flight ticket, if you just take them to the check in desk with as your only piece of baggage they'll check them in as normal and ask you to goto the oversided luggage.

They never check to see if you've paid

I fly with BMI to Heathrow 5-6 a year with my clubs and I've never paid for them once.

I could do a Bournemouth pick-up and a Southampton pick up if that helps.

67 euro for the flight + 60 euro for the clubs. I may as well pay full fare for them and set then on the seat next to me.

Thanks for the offer, but this one may be a bit too much hassle. I'll see you at the next one.

re: AV Forums - Golf day 7 - The Midlands/North

Thanks Dean for offering to set this up and I feel that us regulars need to make the effort to go given Dean's travels in the past.

Count me in - any date apart from the weekend of the 1st March when I will be at The Carling Cup final
