Smile Masters 2009 Final

Been watching this all day

High drama. First session Ronnie won 3-1 but Selby came storming back. The snooker after the interval of this final evening session has been stunning and tension-ridden

And Ronnie just stole that last frame to go 9-8 up

You have the "casual football fan who invaded snooker shouting out from the audience" , but that aside a nail-biting engrossing final

I don't expect any other posts here

Can't believe Selby hasn't won this yet. Hope he can still come through to win it. Tremendous stuff all day!

Re: Masters 2009 Final

Its basically when the two players are in a safety battle and it continues on at a stalemate until both players decide a re-rack would be better than playing safety for 2 hours and is more likely to open things up.

Re: Masters 2009 Final

I thought they gave up too early in that last re-rack. Affected by the impatient football fans in the audience

This 18th frame though! Who wants to win it?!

Re: Masters 2009 Final

Gutted for Selby. How many frames is it possible to throw away in a final?

Well done to Ronnie! Done it again somehow.

Re: Masters 2009 Final

About to call it a night and I thought I might as well go there -

I've noticed the BBC always use Hazel Irvine to host the snooker until the final session of the final - then Ray Stubbs pops up on screen

Ray does the late night presenting, Irvine is on until early afternoon.
