What the hell is going on at Man city?

Hughes is about to quit, Shinatwatara has £800m of assets frozen, and Thailand are wanting him to face corruption charges.

Absolute mess!

It's a total shambles really - Mark Hughes must be gutted he left Blackburn (who I thought were beginning to really improve under his leadership) to join this mess. Must have been promised £millions to spend, we'll crack the top four blah blah....wouldn't mind the Gunners pinching Johnson and Richards through all this chaos....they must be having money problems if they're will to make a loss on one of their key players last season (Corluka linked with £8m move to Tottenham).

Re: What the hell is going on at Man city?

Well - they got rid of a good manager from what I can see and promised the Earth to Hughes but the reality is very different. Saw in the paper today that the previous chairman has baled Shinawatra out a few times by loaning the money to pay wages. So glad Liverpool wouldn't touch him as an owner now. I actually think the Yanks are doing ok for us at the moment (could you really see Torres or Keane being signed under Moores on those fees??) so hope they stick it out.

Moan City rather than Man City this season

It will be interesting if he is convicted - doesn't that technically rule him out of being a chairman on the new Prem League rules??

cant wait till rovers play man city home and away, those are going to be fierce games!

I'm gutted Hughes took if anything a sideways step to man city, yeah yeah i know man city get more people through the gates but that doesn't mean anything, the league table isn't about attendances is it, anyway i think rovers do pretty well for a town of 100,000.

if they get Cruz im going to scream!!

come on rovers!

Re: What the hell is going on at Man city?

I actually think Rovers are a better run club than City. Can't see Hughes getting them any higher than he could take Rovers and it makes any potential move to manage Utd one day a bit tricky doesn't it. Interesting to see what happens with Shinawatra. If he has to be removed in line with Prem League investigation it will be interesting to see what happens with this - does the club have to be sold, how much for, etc,.

Just waiting for Oasis to bring a single out about it now

Re: What the hell is going on at Man city?

Won only two of their 11 opening-day fixtures in this league, including the 0-2 victory over West Ham at Upton Park last year. Hope it goes well this year.

Surely you should have posted this on the social section of the threads ? Don't know where they are ? I was thinking that would be the case also.

Surely this is another football thread......? I asked a question this week about the football threads and why had they been closed ?

I got: this has been discussed on a few occasions now and nothing has changed , closing Whats the point of having a thread if you are unable to speak about issues regarding the forum ?

I don't want to feel like I am standing on toes but all I asked was for a reason to why football had been moved to the social section and other sports and posts been allowed ? I got a thread closed and was told it had been spoken about before.

Anyway good luck city but I don't see it with the lack of fire power up front

Whilst it stayed specific about the mess that seemed to be going on behind the scenes , it was deemed fine . When it begins to ramble about playing rovers and results , then it will be closed
