Re: The Official Beijing Olympics Thread

The opening ceremony was simply spectacular. I just watched up to the point the teams come out. At times, the ceremony reminded me of House of Flying Daggers and Curse of the Golden Flower films. I found out after the Director of the ceremony (and the closing one) is Zhang Yimou who is the Director of those films.

I won't be watching anymore though until the closing ceremony.

Thumbs down Re: The Official Beijing Olympics Thread

Hi,

A superb Opening Ceremony... totally and utterly ruined by the BBC in their usual, spectacular fashion, by three of the most inane and completely unnecessary commentators! See my thread here on it.

Couldn't agree more.
Mind you it's the same with nearly all BBC sports coverage.
We had Hazel Irving and Gary Linaker trying to bluff their way through the Open not so long ago - clearly using briefings they'd just been fed, but still making cock-up after cock-up.

No offense, but I hope not.
This is the Sports Forum so I hope we can keep it relevent to the actual sports events, presentation, coverage etc and leave the politics out of it.

I'm fed up to death with the medias race to interview anyone and everyone with something anti to say.
