Thanks: Gave 968, Got 1,320 | Cotto v Margarito, anyone watch it?
What a fight!
Just in case anyone is planning on watching replays..... That must have been the best boxing match I've seen in ages, everytime Cotto seemed to be taking control of the fight in came Margarito with an absolute onslaught.
Cotto didn't know where he was before the ref stepped in in the 11th, hadn't seen Margarito box before tonight but certainly have admiration for him after tonights performance! Great fight by both boxers though, love watching Cotto and tonight was no exception.
Don't see many like that one, every round entertained, great boxing!

Relentless was the only word.

Great fight, a stylist v in your face type, fantasti pace. Hatton should really have been trying to fight one of these guys instead of the clown he currently is, IMO Hatton would have been beaten comfertably by these two.

Also Maragrito seems massive for a welterweight!
As for Cotto, not quite sure, have alot of respect for him and think he likely would triumph over Hatton, but... if Hatton worked it well on the inside(as we know he can) and tied him to the ropes as he did with Kotza Tszyu then I think he could possibly beat Cotto, that was certainly where Maragrito ground Cotto down.

Yeh i agree, he would stand more of a chance against cotto with working on the inside. After watching maragrito at weekend hatton would have to hit him with some bombs to trouble him!

That was no doubt one of the classic welterweight bouts to ever have been fought IMO. I wasn't that surprised by the Margo win as most were but that chin of his is granite and even I was amazed at the shots he took. Pair of warriors.
Ricky Hatton would do himself a favour to never consider a fight with either boxer, Ricky has never performed too well at WW and Margarito is basically a bigger, stronger, harder hitting, better chinned version of Hatton and I doubt there is another man in the division who could have done what he did to Cotto. What about this for a scenario?
A Margarito rematch with Williams next to unify 3 of the titles, Cotto takes on Berto (who is in my eyes is a paper champion) and then the newly strapped Cotto to fight the winner of the Clottey-Judah fight.
Meanwhile Mayweather Jr grows a set of balls from somewhere and comes out of retirement to take on Antonio Margarito ... I would take Mayweather to win this one actually.
This then sets up a unification and division clean-up fight of Floyd Mayweather Jr Vs Miguel Cotto.
As for DLH, well he can go and fight Hatton & Pac if he wants, either that or retire to promotion.

TBH I think Cotto could outpoint Mayweather and beat him at his own game, he does seem to be very good at picking his punches & has great movement, would almost be a game of chess.
As for Margarito v Mayweather, would certainly be an interesting one, don't see Mayweather coming out of retirement to challenge either though, he has more sense
