Fergie's been at it for years.
I genuinely laughed out loud when I saw his recent moaning.

Re: Ferguson - Hypocrite extraordinaire

And yet, if anyone questions HIS motives or opinions, he gets up on his arrogant high horse...

IMO, He's probably the reason why a lot people dislike Utd....A truly horrible man....

HHHHmmmmmm thats football and its the biter bit in this case.

Do I not recall Spurs announcing the signing of a certain 16 year old before his youth contract had expired...and then ripping off said club.... Some questionable dealings over Defoe, Lennon and some interesting dealings with Sevilla...... Spurs own hypocracy over transfer dealings is pretty shocking.

Not to mention that Spurs have based there action on quotes taken from The Sun , Fergie has no idea where the quotes came from , because they were not from him

Apparently, Fergie named Berbatov as a target during a recorded interview for a Norwegian fansite, which at first published the interview. Fergie has since given them the hairdryer treatment and they've backed down, saying their reporter 'mis-heard'.

The dossier that has been sent to the FA apparently also includes details of Man utd contact with Aaron Lennon and Michael Dawson, or their agents, in the last 12-18 months.

So yes, there appears to be a case to answer.

However, this is common practice in football, and as other posters have said, Spurs themselves have been guilty of similar in the recent past, or so it would seem.

Two wrongs don't make a right, but the whole business of football transfers, agents, etc, stinks to the core. They're all as bad as eachother in a dog-eat-dog world.

At the end of the day, it's all a game of chess to try and extract maximum money from United...

Agreed it would be a joke on the form he's shown in the last 6 months, but before then (when he got his England call-up) he was reportedly interesting Liverpool as well as ManU.

Re: Ferguson - Hypocrite extraordinaire

Great manager, total hypocrite. I agree totally that football is rife with 'backstairs' dealing, but fergie is always the first, and the loudest to complain when it happens to him. He is also thoroughly unpleasant when caught out. Hence his bitchy comments directed at Spurs.

What galls people even more, is that more than ever it seems to be one rule for two clubs (a certain Spaniard has also been named and shamed) another for everyone else.

Witness the FA's craven cowardice when it came to Fergies comments after the Pompey FA cup match. It must be particularly galling to be 'Big Sam' or some other lesser lights managers (and ex managers) who regularly get the book thrown at them, to see Fergies outrageous comments drew no punishment at all................

Re: Ferguson - Hypocrite extraordinaire

Methinks a 15 point deduction is on its way if proven as all the clubs agreed that this is now the penalty for any wrongdoing
Trouble is, if they did that, all the clubs would start on -15! They all do it. They always have. They always will.

It's common knowledge that England get togethers are rife with one player telling another to join their club. It's unrealistic to expect otherwise.

I'd sooner the FA/FIFA/UEFA sorted out the on the field cheating first. That could be tackled, but isn't.

Ferguson. Great record- count the trophies. Average manager- until Chelski no one had his money to spend. Awful man- no need to qualify that one.

Money Money Money. He is the only one who, in premiership history, could (and did) buy £30m players year in year out, and buy others as well.

Great managers do it without the advantages he has had. so there's only ever been one truly great manager. Mr Brian Clough.

Re: Ferguson - Hypocrite extraordinaire

Well in the past 4 seasons Chelski have spent enough to pay off the debt of a country

Liverpool did not get change from £20m for a certain Fernando Torres

And Arsenal have splashed out on an "undisclosed fee" for Nasri. You can believe that to be another £2m bargain buy if you so wish

Sir Alex Ferguson had unprecedented success in the 90s with academy players. None of his counterparts could make the same claim

Re: Ferguson - Hypocrite extraordinaire

Fergie does spend a lot but i think the difference between man utd and chelsea there is that Fergie more ofren than not splashes out on young people like Rooney, Ronaldo, Ferdinand and people you haven't really heard of like Anderson, Nani and then turns them into world class players. Of course he does also buy established players but only if they fit the way the team plays

Chelsea tend more to buy already established stars with their money, and it doesn't work as well as there's no team spirit and the dressing room is full of egos, and they've never put any thought into how well the players would fit into the team, proven by the sheer amount of left wingers and right backs they keep buying.. and sometimes i swear they buy players they've seen man utd or arsenal being linked with just to stop those teams from getting them, and then just benched the players.. Wright phillips and Sidwell are perfect examples of this as Arsenal wanted them both.

Also the money Ferguson has to spend is due to his own success in his early years making Man Utd the world-wide renowned club that it is.

Amen!

And of course success breeds success. The reason he has the money to spend is because he has been so successful before the money came along.

Arguably, his track record speaks for it's self, but he is still the biggest bully, arrogant, hypocrite out of all the premier league managers.

What galls me is just about every everyone & association(apart from J.P McManus & John Magnier-remember that one!) is scared of him...

Arsenal may not have been succesful with academy players BUT wenger has brough a bunch of nobodys and has made then world class players. who was viera, anelka, overmars, henry, hleb? before they joined us.

they where nobodies mate. wenger knows more about players then ferguson does.nowadays ferguson throws money into the hottest prospect out there whilst wenger pracicly buys any unkown player and not only make them a hot prospect but a world class player

they where nobodies mate.
Henry - Signed for £10.5m from Juventus in 1999, already a full international.

Overmars - A European Cup winner with Ajax before he signed for £5.5m in 1997.

Hleb - Signed for a fee that with add-ons reached £10.5m in 2005

Viera - Signed in 1996 for £3.5m from little-known AC Milan.

Anelka, I'll give you. But to describe the other four as 'nobodies' is frankly laughable. You don't pay 8-figure fees for nobodies, particularly 9 years ago !

There no doubt that Wenger nurtured and developed these players further, but 'nobodies' ?!

Re: Ferguson - Hypocrite extraordinaire

Henry's bright career and reputation was quickly going down the pan at Juve, until Wenger signed him....

Overmars was a decent player already and then made into a world class player by Wenger....

Same as Hleb....

Anelka & Viera, although young and bright prospects, were never heard off before Wenger signed them...Do you think they'd prospered their careers' as well at AC?
I don't think so...
