Thanks: Gave 124, Got 47 | How would the English react if Murray won Wimbledon?
I think it would go with little fanfare in England, the English already seem to bear a grudge against him because he's Scottish and they somehow percieve him as Anti-English.

That he would support any team bar England?
That's the same response that 9/10 Scots would give you to that question, including me ... the truth is that probably only 2/10 Scots (if you're lucky) would not be making that comment tongue in cheek.
And guess what 9/10 English would support any team but Scotland in the World Cup but that wouldn't stop us supporting an English tennis player as British if he was doing well.
Even I will admit to supporting England in the WC when it comes right down to it but why shouldn't we make these kind of comments?
They have been part and parcel of the rivalry between the two nations since the beginnings of football. Have we turned into a nation of overly sensitive pansies who can't take a good ribbing?

It isn't just the English. I've got a lot of Welsh mates that aren't supporting him through one reason or another.

I supported Murray this evening, don't really hold a grudge against him, you just hear that he is supposed to be a bit of a ****.

No doubt there are a couple of clowns who think he is anti-english because of his remark during the World Cup a couple of years ago, but I think they are really a very small minority.
Most peoples problem with him is not that hes a Scot but that he appears to be miserable all the time (Maybe the two go hand in hand ). Have no doubt it would go down very well if he won.

It rains 90% of time here, looking happy at any point would mark you out as clearly insane.
I think he probably won the crowd over tonight with his fight back. Still I prefer his persona to that bland mummys boy Tim Henman.
