Paul Ince - future England manager?

Seeing as how he did very well at MK dons and is now the new Blackburn manager, depending on how he does over the next 2 seasons, could he be the next in line for the England job?

Plenty of managers have done well and gone onto do well with premier teams so i can't see your point? Do you mean he could be the first black England manager? As thick as the FA are I'd like to think they would never pick a manager on the colour of a persons skin.

Lets see how he does at Blackburn shall we? He may well be out of a job in 12 months.

Who? Big Sam or Mclaren? I'm glad to see Ince get the job.

He'll get one hell of a reception @ Spammers.

Re: Paul Ince - future England manager?

He had quite a bit of money at MK to work with compared to the other sides in the league, so will see how he gets on at Blackburn first before even considering him as a future England manager

Pearce has a better chance I think

It gets worse, he done wonders at Citeh didn't he?

He took over an excellent England U21 team from Taylor, something that shouldn't of happened either. Might as well give it back to Mclaren.

Not for me, Ince done the right thing by going to Macclesfield , where he done an excellent job. Then onto MK Dons who like Sickie says gave him money to spend. He won the league there and won them there first major trophy at Wembley.

Now if clubs keep taking on the likes of Mclaren and BSam when will the like of Ince and Gary Johnson (Bristol city) ever be given a chance to prove themselves?

Simon, i think it a great and very brave decision by Blackburn, There's not many other teams in the premier that would of done it. Blackburn and maybe the likes of Fulham are the only two i'd think would look in lower league instead of a named manager. Fair play to them as well mate.

Re: Paul Ince - future England manager?

Jeff, Big Sam did miracles at Bolton on a small budget. He turned them from relegation fodder to finishing in the top ten and qualified for European football for the first time in their history.

Somebody's bound to mention the style of football but whatever you say, he can only be thought of as a miracle worker at Bolton.

In terms of the Blackburn job, I'm quite pleased they went for Ince as opposed to someone like McLaren Ince has done well at the two clubs he's been at and as for doing it at Premiership level, has any other player done as well as him over the years? I know that's not the same as being a manager but he's in good company with Mark Hughes, Steve Bruce and Roy Keane!!

He'll get good receptions at most grounds ... except West Ham and City!

Steve i know what he did at Bolton (football was shocking, but some club won the league using the same style) , but when he went onto a so called Big club he was completely out of his depth . Never really rated him as a manger myself.

To be fair though, you asked what Big Sam had ever done?

Not forgetting the decent job he did whilst in charge at Notts County.

Anyway, back on topic.

Far too early to talk about Ince becoming England manager - he's got his chance now at Premiership level and I for one hope he does OK, as long as Blackburn learn to give us some league points for a change as we never get anything from them!

managing liverpool and managing blackburn or everton are 2 different things all together liverpool are a bigger club than both bigger than a lot of clubs so it takes a different kind of manger a top draw manager that a blackburn, spurs, everton club could not attract im afarid.

really, yes sam allardyce is a proven premier league manger who would of done well at balckburn he even would of done well at newcastle given the time but teh newcastle faihfull are a little silly play attractive football and get licked every week or win a trophy even the carling cup would of done them i rememebr it did for your team

as said before i dont disagree with you i woull of opted for the more sensible decision especially when players are jumping ship

Thats wasn't so much my point mate, Blackburn and Bolton are bitter rivals and no Blackburn supporter would want anyone from Bolton as there manager.

.

So your saying Ramos isn't a top draw manager? Bet there's not many in Europe who have won more then him in last 4 years?

How wrong you are mate, doesn't matter how small a club you are the hatred is still the same for your rivals.

Not everyone is as nice as us mate.

As a Bolton fan, i couldnt care less about Blackburn or who their manager is.
It would have been damn funny if Fat Sam had been given the job and got them relegated though, after he shat on us last year.

As it is, good luck to Paul Ince, he may need it.

Re: Paul Ince - future England manager?

It's great that Ince has been given a chance. When you consider the likes of Southgate and Pearce who were given their chance at the highest level.

Ince looks like being a fantastic manager for me, I might end up with egg on my face this time next year, but at least he has achieved something, albeit at a lower level.

Re: Paul Ince - future England manager?

Why hasn't this thread been closed too seeing as it's yet again the same old culprit bickering with his irrational, excessive tone, changing the subject & dragging down what was supposed to be a discussion on Paul Ince?

The sooner the mods actually put their foot down for the right reasons, in the right direction, we can all enjoy posting about football again without being sent to summer camp.

Paul Ince - a brave but I feel justified appointment, a bit early to talk about England in my view but I hope he does well. Difficult job to continue, Hughes bought in some fantastic players of fantastic value - Ince needs to keep hold of them &/or continue that superb scouting to succeed. Santa Cruz is the one he really needs to keep hold of, funds from a Bentley sell could help strengthen severla areas. But good luck to him.

Re: Paul Ince - future England manager?

Delighted Ince has been given the job at rovers, never wanted McClaren or big sam any where near ewood park. Our chairman John williams derserves great credit for giving a guy who's only success to date has been in the lower end of the football league, so what.
Pity there's not more premier league chairman's out their who are willing to give upcoming black or white english managers from the lower league's a crack at plying their trade in the most exciting league in the world, rather going for a foreign mercenary.
Yes it's a gamble, but I have great faith in the guy, and his passion to be successful.

Good luck to the guy.

Ince looks like being a fantastic manager for me, I might end up with egg on my face this time next year, but at least he has achieved something, albeit at a lower level.
How time flies!

Re: Paul Ince - future England manager?

Only one game gone far to early to counting any chickens or should that be turkeys at this time of year
Still think if Ince had been there, Blackburn would have still won that game as it was the easiest fixture they have had for a while
