Tiger Woods out for rest of 2008

as title, being reported on BBC that he's having an op on his knee, so he's out of the next 2 majors plus the Ryder Cup.

dammit! the american's might find someone who can actually play as part of a team

still, won't be same without him - get well soon.

He's going to be a big lose from the up coming Open and Ryder Cup (though he's no-where near as clinical in the RC as he is in normal stroke play).

On the bright side though, maybe he'll come back better than before.

Re: Tiger Woods out for rest of 2008

On one of the golf forums I was reading alot of derisory comments towards Tiger and how he was supposed to have been playing on it and hyping it up. Not so... he was actually playing it down by the sound of reports comming out today. Apparently there is even a stress fracture according to radio 5 live report. How brilliant to go on and win after 91 holes as well (just what he needed...not). Even Retief Goosen reckoned that he only grimaced on the bad shots. What Goosen says on a German TV channel:
"It just seemed that when he hit a bad shot he was in pain and on his good shots he wasn't. I believe if he was really injured he would not have played."

He added: "You see when he made the putts and he went down on his knees and was shouting 'Yeah' his knee wasn't sore. Nobody really knows if he was just showing off or if he was really injured. I believe if he was really injured he would not have played."

Oh well I guess some people just have to knock success but they should be eating their words now.

Re: Tiger Woods out for rest of 2008

Hi Croc

Poor comments from Goojsen if that's the case ...... I watched the last 18 holes Tiger played with Lee Westwood and the play off and Tiger was amazing. He was clearly in some discomfort but the occasion and the adrenalin definitely kept him going ..... a true legend.

I'm sure if it had been any other tournament than the US Open he wouldn't have played but that is the big major for the US stars of course.

Well done Tiger and get well soon.
