Football Season Ticket prices

I've been talking to a few folks about football season ticket prices, and then in the light of this news on the BBC, thought I'd just see how much folks were paying, and what they get for their money in terms of view/atmosphere, rather than the quality of football (as I'm a Derby fan!).

Mine for Derby is £270, and I sit 3 rows up from the pitch, about halfway between the edge of the centre circle & the edge of the penalty area, and is a cracking view.

What about any of the newly promoted sides, have they gone up much? And what about the relegated sides, have theirs gone down?... as if!

Re: Football Season Ticket prices

£99. Student price though.
That's for the bob bank terrace at ninian park. As its a terrace, I can choose where I go, but I'm usually around the halfway line.
It may be standing for 2 hours, but its a much better atmosphere IMO, and for £99 its a bargain.

Re: Football Season Ticket prices

I think Leicester City are going to give away their season tickets in the local paper for next season. Since know one is going to turn up.

But seriously if the price is good (£100ish) I may consider going.

Portsmouth - Mine is about £600 for an adult ticket in the South Stand Upper, the most expensive tickets in the ground.

Re: Football Season Ticket prices

Mines gone up £80, to £760. Well worth it, even though i probably only sat in my seat 4 time last season.

My cousin has a QPR season ticket and it's gone up nearly £180.
Nearly double.

Money well spent mate.

You get a cup final ticket when you want one so why buy a ST.

£760 is well worth it! I'm not sure I'd pay that to which Brazil 70' for a season, never mind Spurs (or anyone else!) in the EPL, in 2008!

No offence Hunts, I feel the same way about our outrageous prices.

What galls me, is that so little of that will actually benefit the clubs. Most of it will go towards expanding 'one' of the players car collection, or their wags wardrobe.

Neil, i see some great games last season at WHL, been paying that sort of money for close to 8 years now. I'm happy paying that and do believe i get value for money. The prices at all the London clubs is far higher then anywhere else in the UK, not sure why though?

Sure there's plenty of season ticket holders all over the UK happy to pay hiked up prices, for me it's not only the football it a good beer up with the lads also. Sure plenty feel the same way mate.

Well, each to his own Jeff.

I just cannot get my head around paying that sort of money when not more than fifteen years ago I was paying just a £100 for good season ticket at Highbury.

If the inflation rate for football prices over that time was reflected in the economy overall, we'd have gone the way Alan Walters was predicting in 1973!

As for good football, I enjoy watching out lot, but I always get the nagging feeling that a lot of the games you see (probably upwards of 80% of them a season now), the opposing teams are so poor, God knows how their fans put up with being charged prices not that much lower than ours to watch that week in week out.

Besides, I can think of a lot better uses for the best part of a £1,000 tbh.

Her in doors would probably leave me if i was always at home.

Re: Football Season Ticket prices

I was speaking to a West Brom fan yesterday, and he reckons their season ticket prices have been reduced now they've been promoted

Sounds like a good, if unusual, move - a great way to reward the fans though.

He'll be paying £250, which I would guess is the cheapest in the Premiership for a non-concession ticket.

Re: Football Season Ticket prices

Season Ticket renewals,a dreaded time for me wondering how the club will attempt to extract more cash from me.

£760 each for me next season plus the wonderful cup scheme.Ive renewed one seat.I havent renewed my other seat as yet as no one seems to want it next season, looks like I will have to let it go.

Madcyril, would you be willing to sell it for face value next season then?
Might know someone who's interested?
