Predict the top 6 2008/2009 Premiership

Time for the annual "predictor" competition. Last year nobody came close - thanks to Spurs and Newcastle!

So as usual, I'll start.

1. Man Utd
2. Chelsea
3. Arsenal
4. Everton
5. Liverpool
6. Spurs

Re: Predict the top 6 2008/2009 Premiership

A bit of a shot in the dark until you see who all the big teams buy in the summer, but in the meantime I'll go for:

1) Man Utd
2) Chelsea
3) Arsenal
4) Liverpool
5) Spurs
6) Aston Villa

I reserve the right to come back in Aug and change that list

Spurs and Villa will both put more money in than Everton. Whilst that's no guarantee of success, it may prove decisive.

Re: Predict the top 6 2008/2009 Premiership

I;m sure I'll think different when the transfers are done and the new Chelsea manager is confirmed but here goes;

1; Man U
2; Liverpool
3; Chelsea
4; Arsenal

5; Villa
6; Everton

I expect the top 4 to be very close though, only a handful of points in it especially between Chelsea and Arsenal who will have similarly weird seasons (Arsenal continuing to mature and adding lots of new players, Chelsea rebuilding after so many players leave). Man U and Liverpool will be the top 2 because of their stability so they will be out of the blocks quickly.

Re: Predict the top 6 2008/2009 Premiership

I'm hoping Pompey will finish in the top six next season. They could have easily have finished fifth if they had played as well as they had earlier in the season but instead they got one point out of their last five games. Still managed to finish eighth though, so not too bad.

We should sign a few players over the summer as well.
