Chelsea ? equal first!

Thats how I see them for they didnt deserve to come second having finished the league equal on points and then this exhilarating final going dow to penalties 6-5. No way were they the second best team.As a neutral I found myself saying one way then the next. One thing I ma suyre of you NEED an English core to a successful side-Terry ,Lamps ,Cole ,Cole, Ferdinand, Scholes etc gave everything and were a credit to English football. Arsenal take note!

Sorry to dissapoint ya mate,but the best team on the night didn`t win it.Chelsea outplayed man u for most of the game and hit the woodwork three times including one of the pens.

United`s luck rode through again.

Far be it for me to to say anything for the mancs :sick: but you should have been put out of the game before HT Teves header followed up by Carrick awsome double save though and the other Teves one that he missed both should have gone in and that would have been 3-0 game over.

Again though its all if's and but's (not them butts derek!) they didn't go in and yes after the first half it was all chelsea but again you couldn't take your chances.

It was a great game and a shame you didn't win as you were the better team.

First off in order to make your dream come true you need to stop the competition in grass roots football. Try telling a 12 year old that winning does not count and its ball control

You can't tie a game with 2 teams, its football not cricket

If the cup was decided on who hit the woodwork the most then yes Chelsea would have had won the cup and had one of their best games for a long time but its not, United totally outplayed Chelsea in the first half and had could have scored 3 or 4 but they didnt, Chelsea were unlucky because they played well and did not deserve to loose a big game like that on penalties.

It would have been a far better match if it was played on a proper pitch, to many people went down early with cramp so the rest of the players must have been feeling it as well. I sort of agree with the OP, if they did end the season equal on points (they didnt) then I think they should have a play-off at wembley instead of sharing the trophy because most of the big clubs take of their best players once they know that they have won the game.

penalties is no way of resolving a football match particularly at 5-6.The cup should be shared 6 months each as they both deserved to win it or maybe give them each a small replica

Erm, yes you were the second best team im afraid

Personally I was so glad that United won that last night, after Chelsea knocking us out in the last round I couldnt have beared them to win last night and trust me it take a lot for me to want Manyoo to win. Fair result I thought, United should have had it sewn up by half time really given their first half display.

Why even bother with a final just give the two teams a pat on the back who get there and give them both a cup.

I dont think either team or set of supporters would be happy to share a cup. There can only be one winner.

Love it or hate it penalties is the best way to end a game thats tied after 120mins, it's great drama and someone has the chance to become a hero. And someone always ends up in tear's. I love it

Chelsea may have edged it on the night but who cares. Tis only a game

As a neutral watching the game. Chelsea definately played better than Man U. Manu U started off very well, but once Chelsea scored they more or less dominated.

Evra should have been sent off for his deliberate elbow on Cole and alot of throw ins and corners were not given to Chelsea although they clearly came off a Man U player.
