Re: fa cup 5th round

Maybe Wenger will actually play a side that their fans want to see now, so it's a good draw all round..........or will he just moan again cos it's Champs League the following midweek. Mind you they are at home..

Re: fa cup 5th round

Man Utd draw another Premiership team , I think they played all premiership teams in last season FA cup as well.

Bristol Rovers have a chance of getting to the quarter finals now after drawing Southampton, come on the gas

Re: FA Cup 5th Round

And its the 19th premiership team ina row for us in the fa cup

Easy peasy

So the draw is still fixed to aid united then?

We'd probably have to beat them at some point to win the trophy so it may as well be now i guess.

Re: FA Cup 5th Round

Pretty sure its in a row woody yeah. Its definately 19 out of 21

Just the way it is.. The last win we had ( 2004 iirc ) millwall were the first non top flight team we'd played that year and that was the final. In fact if the 19 on the bounce is right then they may well be the last non prem team we've played

Re: FA Cup 5th Round

May I remind you CFC that the mighty Huddersfield have been in the final 5 times and are a team well versed in the tactics and brinkmanship needed to succeed in this competition. Indeed it only seems like yesterday when a young Huddersfield team, led by a sprightly Billy Postlethwaite, overcame all the odds and beat the flash money spending 'southerners' of Preston North End 1-0 in the 1922 final.

So, 86 years later and the stars have aligned and Huddersfield face the contemporary flash team of the day. Billy Postlethwaite is long in his grave but his buccaneering spirit lives on in those brave boys that represent the team for today, a team whose hopes reside in the past but will surely be realised in the near future.

Your fate is sealed mate, just accept it

Re: FA Cup 5th Round

Pretty good draw for us. Gives us a pretty nice chance of getting through. You never know, with only 5 prem teams going into the next round (or less if there are upsets), there's a chance of us having a nice run.

That's what I love to see - someone who wants to win the FA cup!

Shame the fans at grounds around the country (bar it has to be said at Utd and Arsenal) didn't seem to feel the same way, with yet another round of dire gates. I cannot believe that Wigan only got 14,000 through the door to see them play Chelsea?!

I'm already bracing myself, in anticipation of the next round... with our dire, cup attendance record, there's the good chance that we'll be outnumbered at home by Huddersfield!

Who knows with Inter Milan at home on the following Tuesday - but we at least know Liverpool will be playing on the Saturday (as will Chelsea). Man Utd v Arsenal will therefore no doubt be the main Sunday Sky game.

Re: fa cup 5th round

Just something I want to share, that I can't believe.

For the match on saturday, wolves fans are only allowed down on Wolves fans buses. Seems some wolves fan don't like this are complaining. Fair enough you may think. Not when you think that this is quite common for cardiff fans to be subject to, and when you remember that cardiff fans were banned from their ground last season (and are still this year), and their fans were throwing chairs etc last time they were at Ninian park.

Talk about wolves being hypocritical. Perhaps we should just ban them like they have us? (since it was their fans causing the trouble last time, not us).

And if we draw Cardiff say in the quaters - we'll be going to Wembley at least once this season - and possibly three times.

The futures bright - our wingers orange.

Re: fa cup 5th round

Que Sera Sera, Whatever Will Be Will Be, We're Going To Wembley, Que Sera Sera.

Well done cardiff today. managed to hold it together well. A nice draw (@ James - may I saw bristol? lol), and the final i very poissible. Last time we got to the 6th round was when we won it in 1927, I wonder if we can repeat it lol.

Also, the wolves fans managed to prove the point I made above. No provocation from the cardiff fans (aside from the chanting you hear at every football ground), and yet the police had to go in to calm the wolves fans down.
