Barcelona Vs Real Madrid Sunday 23rd December 2007

Sunday will see the first El Clasico of the season when Real Madrid arrive at the Camp Nou to take on Barcelona.
The game is widely regarded as the most fiercely contested derby in European football, and has produced some fascinating spectacles down the years.
Perhaps one of the greatest games between these two giants was the corresponding fixture last year, when a Lionel Messi hat-trick saw Barcelona snatch a point in a 3-3 draw after falling behind three times.

Re: Barcelona Vs Real Madrid Sunday 23rd December 2007

Lets hope it lives up to the billing.

To be fair, these games in recent years have been very entertaining. What with the 3-3 last year that could have been 6-5, and a previous one when Fat Ronnie got a standing ovation from the Madrid fans.

It won't be as good as the much hyped 'Grand Slam Sunday' last week, but it should be interesting.

I fancy a 1-1 myself. Will be happy with that, although would not be surprised to see Madrid win.

He is but they will just have to settle for a forward line from Ronaldinho, Henry, Eto'o, Bojan, Gudjohnson and Dos Santos.

Re: Barcelona Vs Real Madrid Sunday 23rd December 2007

Already plumped for the 1-1 earlier, and sticking with this.

However, I would not be surprised if Madrid sneaked the victory. Playing fairly well at the mo, and fairly solid as well.

And after that, we have the Milan derby - always a good game with loads of passion too.

Is this the real 'Grand Slam Sunday'.

Re: Barcelona Vs Real Madrid Sunday 23rd December 2007

A good victory for Madrid.

Don't think Barca caused Madrid too many problems, although to be fair not too many chances in the whole game.

Madrid could have sneaked another on the counter attack, but who cares. 7pts clear at Xmas. Good position to win another La Liga.

Oh, and they want to ship Fat Ron out asap - he is finished completely. Whatever Milan offer in January, they should take their hands off.

Re: Barcelona Vs Real Madrid Sunday 23rd December 2007

That was a good game. Real end to end stuff. Madrid really looked like a solid, determined team out there.

Unfortunately there's no games now for 2 weeks due to their winter break.

BTW I can't imagine the Italians putting up with Ronaldinho's laziness & pie eating habits.

Not a great game, but certainly better than the dross I watched last weekend.

And Ancellotti will be gone very soon, Jose brought in, Milan shaken up and there is no way that Jose will stand for a tubby Ronaldinho.

^ I think you're right. AC Milan lost today to Inter and are down in 12th place in Serie A. They have a 2 week break now too.

Jose may be in charge by the time they play Arsenal in February. It'll be just like old times.

That Milan side need a complete overhaul. Far too many players finished and not good enough.

I would say they could hold on to Kaka, Gattuso, Pirlo, Seedorf, Nesta and let the rest go.

And Jose's the man to sort them out, as long as they can give him big money to do it.

There is talk that Ronaldinho is almost certainly going there, plus Drogba is also tipped recently.
