For the last ten years before 2007, I was just a casual golfer. Would normally play one or two weeks every year when on holiday as there was a great 9 hole par 3 public course there. But was not progressing and couldn't play consistently. Used to go to the driving range occasionally but that was a waste of time really as I never played on a proper course.
But this year a few of us at work played every Monday night at our local public course (par 3, 4 and 5) and I have gradually been getting better. My best so far was 46 for one round, the course is par 34.
Also booked a course of lessons with a pro which I have almost finished and my game is much, much improved. I had a massive problem with slicing it, which caused me to aim left and therefore mess the whole game up. Now my Pro has got rid of that and with the help of my new Cobra driver I can hit straight and a good distance for my build (shortarse

) Starting to improve my iron play aswell.
My goal this year is to join a proper golf club and get good enough to have a handicap, even a high one would be OK. Don't currently feel confident enough to play these golf days that are arranged as people are quoting all kinds of low handicaps which would just embaress me when I mess the shot up!
