Setanta - how pants is their broadcast quality?

It's just pixelated mush compared to Sky and the BBC. I'm glad I don't pay for it, as I get it free with the Virgin subscription I have.

How can they get away with such awful compression!!

Can't say I've had any problems with it.

Re: Setanta - how pants is their broadcast quality?

Are you watching it via Sky or Virgin?

On Virgin it looks horrid, calibration for that channel is the same as the others, so I'm aghast at the difference.

Re: Setanta - how pants is their broadcast quality?

I watch it via Sky and have no issues with the picture quality. I was pleasantly surprised when I got it as I'd heard others complain about the PQ.

Edit: agree it's not as good as Sky, but very watchable.....the Rugby World Cup on Setanta was 100 times better than ITV in every way (commentary, pundits and PQ)

I watch it on Virgin, and I have to say the quality is pretty dire, terrible pixelation. Sky Sports and the Movie Channels are all crystal clear, so I know it is not my telly.

There camera positions are awful for the SPL.I watched Rangers v Falkirk about a month ago and it was awful. The year before they had the exact same game on and the rain was lashing it down big time and they couldn't keep the camera clean,BUT instead of using there brain and maybe cutting away for 2 mins to clean it they kept with it and the camera ended up steaming up so you could hardly make a thing out.

The PQ is fine via Sky but as you said i find the camera work annoying as hell

Also Sky keep a very wide view now days and im so used it its annoying when you cant see a players run alone the line etc on setanta especially when there talking about marginal offside decisions and you cant even see the player called offside in the picture as hes right in the corner of the screen

Re: Setanta - how pants is their broadcast quality?

The quality is ok here. Do you think it could be that 90% of the games they've shown have been so dire, that you're more interested in the PQ than what's passing for football on the pitch?
