Harry Redknapp, amongst others arrested
Harry Redknapp, amongst others arrested today, being invested for corruption, that may be Harry's chance of being england manager gone.
Pomey club are saying they are helping police with enquires going back to 2003.
Quote:
Portsmouth have confirmed that Harry Redknapp and Peter Storrie have been arrested by police investigating corruption in football.
Reports had claimed that Redknapp and Storrie were among five people to have been arrested in raids on Wednesday.
According to the Evening Standard's This Is London website, Leicester City chairman Milan Mandaric, Rangers midfielder Amdy Faye and football agent Willie McKay were also arrested.
The City of London Police's economic unit headed the raid which is part of the same ongoing investigation which saw Tottenham defender Pascal Chimbonda arrested in September.
Police confirmed earlier on Wednesday that five men - aged 69, 60, 55, 48 and 30 - had been arrested following raids.

Re: Harry Redknapp, amongst others arrested
I would say with the money thats been floating around the EPL over the years, there is a lot of nervous people out there.
Where there's big money there is corruption and criminal activities.

Re: Harry Redknapp, amongst others arrested
Lets be honest, if a few agents get put away then the world of football won't suffer as a result, will it?

Re: Harry Redknapp, amongst others arrested
As long as Pompey don't lose points and no one goes to jail or gets sacked I don't really care.
To be honest it doesn't bother me if Harry makes a few bucks from a transfer, the only person it seems to bother is that idiot Mike Newell.
I hope it's his England chances out of the window, that way we don't lose our manager.

MonkeyKnuckle, IF pompey are innocent then i too hope they don't lose points BUT if they are guilty of an offence then people should get sacked and even go to prison if the crime fits.
You also say "To be honest it doesn't bother me if Harry makes a few bucks from a transfer" What sort of a football fan would say that? Mike Newell by the way is a man of integrity. He shouted out about the dishonest bastards that seem to run football these days and it cost him his job at Luton town.
Funny now that Luton have been charged with over 50 counts of irregular payments etc etc etc.
If you do get to keep your manager then good luck to you. But Mike Newell is not the idiot. No need fot this

Re: Harry Redknapp, amongst others arrested
I would find it hard to believe that old saggy face is involved in "dodgy dealings". That Gary Lineker on the other hand...

Re: Harry Redknapp, amongst others arrested
Newell: 'She should not be here. I know that sounds sexist, but I am sexist, so I am not going to be anything other than that. We have a problem in this country with political correctness, and bringing women into the game is absolutely beyond belief. It is bad enough with the incapable referees and linesmen we have, but if you start bringing in women, you have big problems. This is Championship football. This is not park football, so what are women doing here? It is tokenism for the politically-correct idiots.'
Anyway, it seems it is not Harry that is under investigation anyway.
"We all helped the police with their inquiries, but it doesn't directly concern me - it's other people involved," he said.
"I've been answering questions to help the police. I am not directly concerned with their inquiries.
"They have to arrest you to talk to you, for you to be in the police station.
"I think that's the end of it. It didn't directly concern me."
