Where was Terry Venables

Hi noticeable absence picked up on by the folks at BBC and that angry Adrienne bloke on Talk Sport saying how McClaren should walk at half time.

Imissed the ppst-game interviews so I'm none the wiser as to why he wasn't on the bench telling Steve he's lost the plot and the **** off.

Anyone hear anything in the interviews or what not that explains where he was?

To mods - tried asking this in the Eng. v Cro. thread but was ignored and it is a big thing so surely worthy of it's own thread(??)

Not really, Venables watches from the stand for alot of the match. He usually only turns up once England are in front or least looking comfortable but I suppose as needs must tonight he came down for the second half.

he wasn't to be found in the section where the other England peeps go though and 5Live where searching for him during the game. And he normally sits next to clueless Steve not in the stands anyway - atleast that's from what I've seen of him on tv

He was at the front of the 'bench' next to McClaren in the 2nd half, not sure about the 1st

Maybe you have been watching too many 2nd halfs, Venables observes from the stand for at least the first half of most matches

Re: Where was Terry Venables

Maybe he just went missing like the other 11 England players in the 1st half.
