England's Number 1
Who do you think it should be?
My vote goes to Rob Green, on good form for West Ham and doesn't seem to have any real flaws to his game like some of the others

Re: England's Number 1
But he plays for friggin west ham.
To be honest, England don't have any world class goalies.
The closest thing we have is David James but he is too inconsistent.

Re: England's Number 1
It was the wrong game to change the goalkeeper to a player making his first appearance at such a young age.
If McLaren wanted to change he should have gone for David James.
And its also strange that the highest placed team playing with an English goalkeeper ..... he doesn't get a mention

Re: England's Number 1
Ok all you people who have voted for James as Englands No1 haven't got a clue.
We now need to be looking for a squad for the WC. James @ 37 now isn't the answer, think half of you just haven't got a clue.
James, now his last major tournament was Portugal 2004,we was 1-0 @ Lisbon against France,89th minute and he makes 2 mistakes one giving away a penalty and we lose 2-1.Then in 2005 he's finally given another chance ,comes on @ Denmark,0-0 he lets in 4 in a 4-1 defeat, think it maybe England biggest.
Now do we honestly need David James back in goal?

I'm all for giving Green a chance. He's been looking good recently.

I think you're right about his age but I don't think you can blame him for the penalty against France ..... I think you can look at a Mr Gerrard for that one.
Again, why haven't we considered the England Under 21 keeper and the highest placed league goalkeeper in the premier league? (It's the same person btw!)

That's your opinion, not fact. He should at least be considered given the fact that the next major tournament that England could involved in will be the World Cup in 2010 and he will be at a good age.
Who does Ben Foster play for again?

We'll disagree on that one,James was shocking at the Euro's,must admit Gerrards back pass wasn't good nor was James positioning.
