| Calzaghe Vs Kessler Nov 3rd Setanta Sports
Joe Calzaghe has told Mikkel Kessler he will pay for his lack of respect when the two men go head-to-head in Cardiff in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Kessler has warned the Welshman to expect a tougher fight than his comprehensive win over Jeff Lacy and says he has the tactical know-how
to emerge victorious at the Millennium Stadium.
But WBO super-middleweight champion Calzaghe is convinced that Kessler has under-estimated his abilities, just as Lacy did before him.
Respect
"He hasn't got any respect for my punching power or my boxing ability, but that's a good thing," Calzaghe told myfreesport.co.uk of the WBA and WBC champion ahead of their unification bout.
"Lacy (Jeff) underestimated me, and look what happened. Kessler will find out the same way."
Kessler has suggested Calzaghe is not the hardest of punchers, something which the Cardiff fighter says he will use as motivation.
"Good. That's good," he said. "I'm pleased he's said that. Hearing him spout that makes me more determined to shock him and out him on the floor."
However, Calzaghe admits that Kessler is a talented boxer and says that his undefeated record adds extra spice to their bout.
Hungry
"I actually think he's a very good fighter," Calzaghe said. "He's undefeated, obviously, he's a hungry fighter and he's got two world title belts.
"That's why I'm excited to fight him, because I've got something to gain from beating him. Usually, I've got nothing to gain and everything to lose because I'm up against guys who aren't bringing anything to the table.
"This guy's got two world title belts and an undefeated record, so I want to take that away from him. I feel great, great shape, relaxed, ready to go."
