Jason Robinson Appreciation Thread

I was going to post on the World Cup thread but I think he's worthy of his own thread.

Come on JR lets go out with a bang. He was amazing at Wigan in the 90s and then made a flawless transition to Union, my favourite JR memories include his 2001 Lion try, but by far my favourite of all has to be his try against Oz in the 2003 WC.

Let's hope the rest of the England team can send Robbo off with another medal for his collection. Hopefully he’ll stay in the England camp as a coach as his experience could be invaluable to the new blood coming through.

What are your favourite memories?

Re: Jason Robinson Appreciation Thread

Not sure its the best memory, but it was heartbreaking to see him limp off against SA, and I'm mighty pleased he has a second chance against them. Well done lads

Thought he gave his all that match. But let's hope he has a special moment or two left in him.

Re: Jason Robinson Appreciation Thread

Come on Jason, one last big game.

You and all the lads have done us proud.

Unlike certain other "England" players.

Re: Jason Robinson Appreciation Thread

I have been watching sport since I was a young lad and Robinson just seems to have been around forever at the top of the game be it RL/RU.

A great career, truly deserving of another winers medal in the final tommorrow - fingers crossed

Re: Jason Robinson Appreciation Thread

Not one to comment much on here although i read alot but robinson has been one of the most amazing players in both league and union - no higher compliment than if he played football i think in skill and commitment he would be a zidane or pele

Amazing footwork - amazing speed - Amazing understanding of the game

Re: Jason Robinson Appreciation Thread

to be fair Farrell was a crock with serious knee problems when he switched codes and played a very different position to Robinson. In his day Farrell was a better player than Robinson.

Robinson was a very dynamic player, watching him live was an exciting experience when he played for the cherry and whites. His try in the 1998 GF to beat Leeds (always good) was a personal highlight.
