2007/2008 Premiership on Setanta

Anyone got some inside knowledge of how they're gonna charge for this?

Prem+ was easy & relatively cheap - £50 season ticket. I can't believe Sky are gonna charge Sky Sports customers an extra £15 a month for Setanta like Setanta are charging elsewhere, or will they? Yeah, probably.

I really can't see that many people bothering to get it - it would take my Sky bill towards the £70 a month mark.

Good excuse not to get it of course is a great excuse to watch all those games down the pub without the "but we've got the football at home honey" remarks....

Re: 2007/2008 Premiership on Setanta

Seen this thread in the Sky Hd forum and it seems that 15 quid will be the going rate for the extra footy.Unlike the prem plus games they'll not be in HD either

Please explain football rights for 2007/08 season

Off to pub seems a sound solution - hey gives the misses time to catch up on the ironing etc

Re: 2007/2008 Premiership on Setanta

I brought a season ticket this season instead as its actually cheaper than paying for Sky and going to a few matches. I know its not an option for everybody but hopefully it will encourage a few people to do the same.

Sky Sports costs ~£20 a month (I'm expecting a rise on top of this soon with prem plus being combined with Sky Sports) and if Setanta costs £15 a month thats £35 per month or £420 per year. My Season ticket costs £410.

As soon as Sky drop the charge for Sky+ in July I'm cancelling Sky Sports completely, I don't watch it that much and am fed up with the football
I've turned into Overkill

Will it though? My account is with Sky & their equipment - but then I suppose we pay for the Beeb separately still...

The Setanta payment comes out of your bank separately to the Sky one, it's a different contract

Oh dear , not making the Championship has finally hit home , compounded by the announcement that they are looking to leave the City Ground

Re: 2007/2008 Premiership on Setanta

Well that's my Sky Sports cancelled, saving me £17 per month so no more live Premiership for me ..... and I'm not even bothered about it

Re: 2007/2008 Premiership on Setanta

I'd rather they did a PPV option per match and would happily pay for the away matches I couldn't attend but I can't see me paying out a tenner a month on top of Sky Sports costs when I'm paying for neither at the moment.

Can't say I'm impressed that Setanta are broadcasting in 4:3 SD as well, I've been spoilt with Sky Sports HD.

Re: 2007/2008 Premiership on Setanta

Don't know if you's are aware but you can get live games FREE on the internet at 'live footie doctor' (just type this into google). Shows premiership games live at 3pm on a saturday, premplus/setanta games. champions league games, old firms games and internationals.

Its not HD but its better than paying all that extra money!!

This season im going to buy a cable that goes from my laptop to flatscreen tv for better picture!

Hop this helps someone

Allan

You won't get a better picture, you'll just get a bigger cr@p one. This is really bad picture quality even on small screens, tis very limited bandwidth.
