Graham Poll - Retired?

Graham Poll makes me laugh! .. He was supposed to have retired last week, yet he's seeking even more publicity now, than when he was actually a ref! This from the man, who, after up big time at the WC, pleaded with all to let him get on with life, quietly, away from the public glare and in his own way. But, before the pea has even settled in his whistle, he's serialising his book in the papers and slagging off Brian Barwick for not supporting him in the debacle in which he sent off John Terry in the Spurs game in November.
He's going on about ref's not having the stomach to deal with offensive and abusive managers effectively! Why the frig didn't he do that, when on numerous occasions, Rooney, not 6 inches from his face, called him all the names under the sun? And today he's crying in the tabloids about Jose Mourinho making an unrepeatable, disgraceful and personal comment against him during the Man Utd game last month! Apparently, Jose merely suggested that Poll's relationship with Fergie was "more than intimate"!
I've never liked Poll, 'cos he's never been fair to us (Chelsea) ... telling Henry to take that quick free-kick is never far from my mind.. but he's a hypocrite IMO and I for one won't lose sleep over the premature retirement of that Arsenal fawning

I'm sure to have support on this one ... aren't I?

Not from me, I'm afraid

Professional footballers, and fans, will come to regret the days they treated referees with so little respect

And for those who don't respect them, the (respectful) suggestion is that they try the job themselves

See my post here

Whilst I agree he should quietly enjoy his retirement, on the other hand that Maureen went over the line and realised it himself is entirely believable. I think I now know what I want to ask Mr. Poll
