Hammers fans - Reo-Coker hands in Transfer Request...

Will you be sad to see him go? The club want a reported £8m for him - overpriced?

Re: Hammers fans - Reo-Coker hands in Transfer Request...

Been linked with Tottenham quite a bit, and I wouldnt mind seeing him at the Lane albeit for less than 8M. He is a very telented player, but doesnt seem to do it consistently, a little like Jenas, and as Martiin Jol seems to have got the best out of J I think he could do the same with Reo-Coker

Tottenham are bound to go for him, or Spurs will go for Scott Parker and Coker will go to Newcastle.....

god knows when Spurs' money will run out... maybe when the Mancs stop paying them ridiculous amounts for average players

Called good business.

Parker would be a good asset, but Barton a better one and probably cheaper.
Anyone who pay's £8m for reo coker needs shooting,so i take it he will be of to the bar codes then.

Parker would be worse than Barton Apart from the fact he has a injury record to rival Sicknote, at the time of leaving Chelsea he wanted to join Spurs and we were happy to pay their asking price but ended up at Newcastle Greed me thinks, Spurs would not pay the 50-60k a week. Not really interested in that type of guy being at Spurs

Only thing wrong with that statement is the price. Newcastle would have to wait until someone looks dumb enough to pay £8 mil - then double it!

Re: Hammers fans - Reo-Coker hands in Transfer Request...

Didn't see this thread...

In my opinion he can shut the door quietly on his way out, a spoilt little nonce if ever there was one, strutting around like he owns the place. Getting in a strop over fabricated stories - this would be the fault of his agent, primarily, but even so...

I'll tell you now, NRC is way over-rated. He has energy, that's a given but he needs to work big-time on his passing and needs to decide on what type of midfielder he wants to be. At the moment he can't be the more attacking of a midfield pairing because he can't shoot well enough, he would make an ideal holding midfielder...

He has promise but has ideas way above his station so whoever wants him can have him. Although I would like us to price him out of the market so he ends up in the reserves next season...

Maybe he just wants to go onto bigger and better things like Carrick, Rio, JC, fat frank and Defoe, you can hardly blame him for wanting to further his career.

Bigger and better things? That's the funny thing mate, Nigel Reo-Coker does not belong in that list you've quoted... he thinks he can go on to bigger and better things elsewhere but, with all due respect, he's more likely to end up at Bolton instead of Man Utd or Arsenal...

Think you might find Rio didnt wanna leave West Ham, was the board that sold him to help pay toward a near £40m stand. Harry didnt wanna let him go. Crazy.

No thanks. As you say rio, he thinks he's a cut above the rest. I've seen nothing over the last two seasons to convince me he is. He had a 'good' 2005-06, but not spectacular, and since then he seems to have discovered that his boots are no longer big enough.

Utd and the rest are welcome to him.

I think Reo is funny about how good he thinks he is saying how he will only raise his game against the top 4 to get a move out of West Ham...if I was a Hammers fan I;d think good riddens...he's just too average for me right now

Re: Hammers fans - Reo-Coker hands in Transfer Request...

There is no natural leader at West Ham at the moment.....I recall someone nominating Lucas Neill as a captain? - can't say i agree with that. Average player at best (and that's being kind)
However, if paper talk could be true, i would certainly be behind a bid for Eider Gudjohnsen. Very capable player - totally underrated at Chelsea - was always going to be a bit part player for Barca.
He's the sort of player that would do very well at West Ham.
It will also be interesting to see if Dean Ashton can make a full recovery.
I fear that we might try and get Darren Bent (for an inflated price)
Time will tell - although, i think it has been proven, that 'average' is almost acceptable in the Premiership now.

Re: Hammers fans - Reo-Coker hands in Transfer Request...

I think Neill would be a natural captain for us - it's no coincidence that when he got fit and playing each week, our back four looked so much more organised; he's a talker, much more so than NRC.

It's either him or Yossi for captain in my eyes...

At the moment the two likliest looking signings are Scott Parker and Nicky Shorey - and I'd be quite happy with both

Re: Hammers fans - Reo-Coker hands in Transfer Request...

Certainly appears so - rumour mill is in absolute overdrive (as it is with every bloody club as there's not much else to talk about at this time of year).

So far it's been:

Parker
Barton (as well as Parker, not instead of...)
Bent
Shorey
Defoe

On the subject of Parker, if he were to stay fit then he'd be an excellent signing and a definite improvement over NRC.

Re: Hammers fans - Reo-Coker hands in Transfer Request...

That comment about Defoe could seriously bite you on the backside - think he's going to hang around if you've got Keane, Berbatov and Bent all in front of him?

For what it's worth, Spuds can get Bent

As for £8.5million for Parker, is it really likely to be that amount up front? It's still half the money that the Mancs paid for Carrick, remember, and as clubs will find out this summer, because of the inflated TV money this is going to be very much a seller's market this summer.

I could probably see a swap with NRC happening anyway...
