Re: premier league champions 07-08

Chelsea - with their key players present they are more selfish and ruthless than Scrooge (pre-ghosts visiting )

Man Utd will put up another good fight but I cannot see them winning it 2 years a row playing in the same style sadly imho. Don't get me wrong though - I do have the Ronaldo avatar on standby!

Both were phenomenally consistent over the whole season but for next season I think Chelsea will prevail

Liverpool and Arsenal will still fall short over a 38 game season imo, though they will improve.

As for the token Spurs inclusion, anyone who thinks for one thing they can concede 20 less goals a season to get close to the big 4 next season, has had some of the good stuff LGS is on!

I see hunts has been ever the optomist As well as I see us doing, winning may be pushing it a bit

Think Man U will hold on to it next year, Hargreaves and a few more signings (NOT BERBATOV!) mean the will be much stronger than last season.

Best I see Spurs doing (IF they keep Berbatov) is a Champions League finish at 4th.

Re: premier league champions 07-08

United... Chelsea and Liverpool are both capable of getting into a chess match with a pub team. Too many draws for both.

The addition of a couple of quality forward players should make united unstoppable, so long as we avoid big injuries.

Kopchoir are you from Bury? If so that is a disgrace, I hope you're a good distance from the hallowed turf of Gigg Lane.

I may be bias however I'm going for Chelsea...Here's hoping for a much less injury ravaged squad next season.

Its hard to vote when you don't know about signings.

Smart money would go with Chelsea based on recent summer spending spree's but they have said they won't spend big this summer. If this is the case then I feel the African Nations Cup will be hard on them at a key time in the season (will miss 5 players, especially Drogba and Essien).

So if all this is true I will go for Man Utd - again!!

Re: premier league champions 07-08

BTW I love your optimistic inclusion of 'OTHER' (some would say Spurs too!!).

I do rant on about the poor standard of the teams in the EPL outside of the top 4 quite often (and I am no great fan of the season-long quality of Liverpool), so thinking that someone else might won it is just crazy.

We will have more chance of discovering who shot JFK, intelligent alien life and a cure to global warming in the next year.

I remember last season the starting price in the bookies for Spurs, who were 5th fav for the EPL, was 50/1 - that is shocking for the 5th best team in the land.

In Spain the price would be more like 10/1.

They are either going to be worried top 4 team fans fearful of us crashing their little party or teams from the rest of the league jealous we are the only side capable of puting up some sort of challange

If you tighten up that defence, buy about 3 or 4 new players and keep hold of Berbatov (assuming he doesn't suffer 2nd season blues) then I believe you could break up the top 4 and make it into the CL.

But you will still be 50/1 to win the EPL cos you would have no chance.

Sorry

If the poll didn't say who you had voted for, I'd have gone for Spurs But I see Chelsea getting the title back (aslong as Jose stays)

Re: premier league champions 07-08

Chelsea or Utd I'm afraid. Depending on which one gets out of the blocks fastest.

The net result will be even bigger gaps in those sitting in the stands...........
