Thanks: Gave 516, Got 486 | AVF Golf Day "Fore" - Friday 3rd August 2007
AVF Golf Day "Fore" has been scheduled for Friday 3rd August 2007. I am proposing a visit to this wonderful golf course that I played a few years ago. Bridlington Links
Need a MINIMUM of 12 people and the day will consist of the following
* Coffee & Bacon Sandwich
* 9/18 Holes
* Light Lunch
* 18 Holes
* Three Course Dinner
All for the reasonable sum of £37.50. Deposits will be £10 per person. The course is available at the moment and I'll need to book it ASAP.
Please ask any questions on this thread and confirm attendance ASAP.
This will be a superb day/night out and hopefully more members will attend. I'll be donating £100 towards prizes and the winner of the day will have there name put on the coveted AVF Golf Day Trophy kindly donated by Signs.
Finally as the organsier of this wonderful day, I'd just like to thank Woodywizz for the superb job he did organising the last event.

I'm sure we will travel to Scotland in due course. W're gradually working our way North anyway
I think the aim is to do 2/3 days per year. Not sure if we'll get another 1 in this year. If not, i'll strongly recommend to the board that Scotland is given the highest consideration for 2008

C225 - no excuses mate
Get a plane! I did for the last one and it was a top day out (hmmm, just thinking about the evening spectacle makes me go all .. err... I'll shut up now)
As a side note I am 99% certain to be in Spain that weekend but should that fall through I'll be there. Curious to see what Martin's manor has to offer in regard to the nightlife!!

Dom, I'll PM you later with details mate.
Shandy, be disappointing not to see you there mate but there's always the next time. "Is that fruit salad" kills me that does.
C225, it's not far mate, be good to see you there You know you want to. Oh and Scotland sounds fine to me especially St Andrews, fancy organising the next one?????

The cost to get there would be more than day itself and i dont even know where bridlington is other than in yorkshire.
As i said if there is one in scotland you can garuntee i will be there but i would advise against the old course it's over £100 a round each the other courses are quite cheap though.

Martin
Cheers! I'm not ruling it out but I am currently scheduled to be away that weekend and will know for sure in plenty enough time to still make AVFGD4 if not.
Incidentally I'm off to Scotland (for the first time) golfing this september - playing three courses on the coastline just north of Edinburgh (The Glen at North Berwick, Guillane no2 and Longniddry). They all look spectacular from the pics but we shall see!

Many thanks for your compliments Martin on "Golf Day III".
Definitely count me in on this one ....thought we were playing at your course though
Very generous of you to offer £100 toward the prizes - you do not need to mate, as I'm sure we'll all agree.
Looking forward to it already.
PM me your address and I'll send the full amount straight away.

I gave him a bollocking, he should have told me they were planning the rule change.
Anyway, Bridlington Links is a superb course and I've been planning on returning there since I played it a few years ago. Nobody will be disappointed.
I'll see if I can find details of hotels/b&b's etc and post details soon.
PM Sent mate.

No worries mate - just been on the Bridlington Links site and it does look very very good The North Sea looks particularly inviting for golf balls

You can count me in this time, deposit will be winging your way on Monday.
Bridlington is a really nice course , if you can make it, you owe it to your clubs to be there.
Brid's a cracking night out too, not sure if they've got a Spearmint Rhino yet, but there are plenty of 'similar' establishments along the seafront..
Just remember, bring plenty of balls if you 'fade' it off the tee. |

I thank you on Abbeygoo's behalf.
Being on the "seafront" though....don't they smell of fish?
