Re: wembley travel ?

I'd come off the M1 at J4 and turn right following signs for Stanmore. Stanmore tube station and car park is ten mins away. If the tube station car park is full carry on into town centre and park there for 50p per hour.

Pick up Zone 2-6 travel card for £4.60 and tube in and out. Wembley Park station is four stops from Stanmore.

Far better than driving all the way in and out.

Re: wembley travel ?

I was reading in the Evening Standard tonight that for the Cup Final tomorrow, and I assume the Play -Off Final as it will be the same number of people, there is apparantly a 1 1/2 Mile radius No Go Parking Zone with clampers and tow trucks in operation.

Like Juiceloose says, best to park well out and tube it in the reat of the way.

Re: wembley travel ?

I agree with the Stanmore recommendation too, problem is, so will a LOT of other people. I'd probably head straight down the M1, and park in Brent Cross, then grab a bus from there. Or head to IKEA and walk from there.

I drove pass the new Wembley stadium on the way home from a gig tonight, all I can say is WOW! It is absolutely STUNNING!! It is a breathtaking sight, especially at night with everything lit up. It really is state of the art, and a wonderful design. Even the wife was awestruck at it.

It certainly heightened my expectation for the match tomorrow, well, later today now looking at the time. The atmosphere is going to be electric.

Wembley Park station also looks impressive, and is a MASSIVE improvement to what it looked like before. I'm envious of everyone who has tickets for the final, that stadium is definitely something to be proud of in my opinion. In fact, that is something I felt when looking at it, pride.

It's our stadium damnit, football has returned home, onto a new hallowed ground, may it forever strike fear into the hearts of all those who wish to oppose the three lions when they come. For this is more than just a stadium, it's our god damn fortress, and the pride of this nation, our nation will sing through the stands of this great new Wembley, and forever hammer home to our footballing foes.........we're back, and come take us on if you dare.

Good luck to both teams tomorrow.

Regards,

Kaz Basset..........future England Manager

To me, it stands as a monument to all that is wrong in football - crap ticket allocations, overpriced tickets, rip-off food and merchandise, corporate phonies over real fans. We want our game back

But surely that is more to do with how the idiots who run things have formed their processes?

The ticket allocation is a joke yes, but don't forget, this is the first major event at the new stadium, so I always expected the allocation to the final teams fans to be more limited than normal.

Re: wembley travel ?

Wembley is over-rated, I'm glad we're not going
In the days when Forest were there permanently (cue Hovis advert music!) we used to park at Stanmore and get the tube in to Wembley. You can park on the streets about half a mile to a mile away from the station for nothing if I remember correctly.

Only because the ref didn't send Gazza off for his lunge that caused his injury .... yes I'm still bitter about that

There isn't really a road to be honest, it may already be too late if you've already left. But when you get to the bottom of the M1 stay on the left lane, it bears to the left as you exit the motorway. About 50 meters after the exit you will see another left turning, with signs towards the shopping center (Brent Cross mall). Follow the signs there, should easily find lots of parking there. If you head inside the mall and ask information to direct you to the bus stops they should be able to help you out.

Re: wembley travel ?

Pick a tube station on jubilee or metropolitan line, then see if you can pre book parking on ncp website.
