It was probably for allowing Corradi to have such a ridiculous goal celebration, thankfully, Corradi is so useless we didn't see it too much
Feel for Pearce though, but unfortunately, he has made poor signings, and hasn't been able to fire the team up this season.

Whilst I feel for him, this business is not about nice guys. It is about getting the results. But then I thought teams like City seemed to be content with *just getting there* every season?
*rubs thumb against forefinger and middle finger*
Smell it. That £35 million for finishing 20th next season

I suppose it was on the cards. However if we get Jewell it's a step backwards.
I can see it happening though, too much of a coincidence. I really hope I'm wrong though..............

I'm hoping that Big Sam likes the idea of taking us forward. The Newcastle thing isn't decided so do we have a chance of getting Allardyce? He can certainly attract players, makes good signings and motivates the team. I think a lot of nonsense is talked about the style of football he plays.

If he was managing one of the 'sleeping giants' and was as successful we wouldn't hear any of the moaning we've had about Bolton. Since City and Newcastle both fit the bill we'll soon find out..........

Yeah, put Big Sam back on as your Avatar, Abbey. We need all the help we can get to keep Jewell away!

To Say Jewell is a step backwards is rubbish, hes no Fergie but hes a well respected manager with a lot of experience. How exactly that is a step backwards from a half-baked numpty with no experience whatsoever is beyond me

Citeh must be hoping that they can get Sam to change his mind. Jewel is a non starter & after that you are left with Sven & possibly Houllier.
I get the feeling the Sam left Bolton with Citeh in mind & a lot of Toon fans would prefer Houllier BUT the fact is that FF has thrown his all in for Sam & if he doesn't get him he is going to once again leave us looking like fools (that we often are).
The fact that FF has slated Owen, that Nigel Pearson managed to make both Martins & N'Zogbia go awol before our meaningless last game & Dyer didn't celebrate his goal (& get booed in the process) isn't exactly going to sell the club to many managers.
I hope we (Toon) do get Sam & that Citeh don't get either Jewel or Sven - so that leaves Houllier - if he's interested.

Jewell hasn't that many seasons as a top flight manager under his belt and his record is nowhere near as good as Allardyce's. Pearce was a great appointment at the time and he did well in his first season. I think his record in the transfer market let him down badly and he deserved to go today.
However, he is still a legend and calling him a numpty is out of order!

Bradford struggled, and clung on by their fingertips in season one, then nosedived the following, then at Wigan he did better in a weaker premiership, but still struggled in his second season. Hardly setting the World alight, is he?
Frankly, any club with any ambition would not want to know after his comments after the Liverpool game. Had made them about playing Arsenal or Chelsea there would have been an uproar, and he'd have been deservedly sacked. If they'd gone down it would have been due to his attitude, not West Ham and Tevez. I'm only sad they didn't. Hopefully now he's gone they'll display a different attitude to the 'big clubs'.
Is that the kind of guy you really want?
