Snooker.... why does it always seem to finish so bloody late!!

Last year almost 1am, this year looks like it's gonna be 2am at least, surely they'd be better off starting the last day earlier than 3pm and giving it a chance to finish at a reasonable time! Not stopping up to watch it cos it looks like there's a good 2 or 3 hours play left yet, just annoys me that I'll miss the end of the final live, people do have work the next day!

Well it seems I jinxed Mark like I seem to have picked a knack for, for others. But congratulations to John Higgins. Played a good game and I think experience told

I switched off at 11.50, score was 14-13 & there was no way it was finishing before 3am. Can't believe it only went on for another hour!

I always lose interest when Ronnie gets knocked, if he gets to any final it tends to end quicker...

Re: Snooker.... why does it always seem to finish so bloody late!!

Well one of the reasons this time was Mark 'clean the white' Selby looking at every shot from every conceivable angle, and also waiting until a ball was right over the pocket before he tried to pot it. Honestly, the man could bore for England. The Jester from Leicester ? Pity he wasn't from Poole .....

No coincidence then that the last 3 frames finished in an hour when Mark didn't get near the table ......... 20 mins per game, as opposed to 20 mins per yellow .

The problem with starting a bit earlier on the final day, I suppose, is in case the game ends 18-10 or something, they'd then miss the Prime Time slot.

I know what you're getting at but I don't think the final was particularly boring or tedious like Dott vs Ebdon. Yes the players took their time, but I thought the high drama took away that feeling of tedium. When they came to actually taking the pot, in my opinion it didn't feel like a near 2 min wait. And tbh the safety play was awesome. I'm sure world 8 ball champion didn't want to have to make medium-long range plants so often! That 4 ball plant was stunning btw
